Laurel Park NC is a small township in Henderson County, just South of Asheville. It is a true Mountain Community that has spanned decades and has gorgeous homes with spectacular views. You can drive along Laurel Park Highway, which is a two lane road winding through Mountain Laurels, Rhododenron and Long Range views. Homes are often invisible, making the drive to the top of the Mountain seem remote. And at the end of the drive is a small city park called Jump Off Rock, with views of the Pisgah Mountains.  If you are looking for a Real Mountain Community with beautiful homes and great people, give Rich a call and he can show you why Laurel Park is a great place to live. He should know, he lives there! You can view all Homes For Sale in Laurel Park. Rich would be happy to provide you with...

If you are in Hendersonville NC this weekend on vacation and you haven't taken the drive to the top of the mountain in the little town of Laurel Park, you are missing a big view. All the way at the top of the Mountain is the little park with the big view. Owned and maintained by Township of Laurel Park, Jump Off Rock is an amazing sight.  When you first arrive at the Jump Off Rock Park, you wonder what the fuss is all about. It is a small park , and the views are not visible until you are right at the edge of the mountain. But what a reward when you get to the edge! When you step up to the edge and take a look, you will find a breath taking panoramic view of the Pisgah and Blue Ridge Mountains. It is absolutely breath taking.    There is a legend to this place and the story has been pa...

Laurel Park Place in Hendersonville NC is a quiet group of townhomes off the beaten path. Located on the west side of Historic Hendersonville NC, this small community is tucked away in a neighborhood of mature landscaping and streets winding up a slight slope to a nice mountain view. There are 96 homes in this neighborhood. Although many are single floor living, there are two floor homes as well. Some have walk out basements for added room. The community was built in the early 1990's. It is located behind the Laurel Park Shopping Center, which has a large grocery store, pharmacy, several specialty shops and restaraunts, making it very convenient. On December 15, 2009, Laurel Park welcomed two new council members: Dona Mennella and Carey O'Cain.  This will be Dona Mennella's third term to serve as a Laurel Park town commissioner and Carey O'Cain's first term.  Senator Tom Apodaca swore both new members in to their posts.  Mr. O'Cain is president of the Laurel Park Civic Association and looks to be a promising new addition to the town council.  I am also happy to report that the Council was gracious enough to elect me as Vice-Mayor for the next two years.  I am very honored by this. I would like to extend my congratulations and warm welcome to my fellow council members as they join me, Bob Vickery, Mayor Henry Johnson and Town Manager Jim Ball on the town council.  We hope to see many more people at future council meetings as well...

As I told you in my blog last week, Laurel Park was ranked #3 in the country for most affordable places to retire in the country.  As Town Commissioner, I was privileged to be interviewed about this announcement by BlueRidgeNow.com.  NeighborhoodScout.com, the company that compiled the list, scoured its database of over 61,000 communities and determined its most affordable places to retire in the country by comparing information gathered from the US Census Bureau, US Geological Service, FBI, Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight and the state and federal departments of education.  They also compared the median house prices, amenities offered, beautiful surroundings and crime statistics.  Laurel Park is a small town (with 1400 year-round residents and up to 2250 in the summer) a...

As a resident of Hendersonville, this comes as no surprise.  But, now the rest of the country will know what I've known all along.  Laurel Park has been named as one of the Best Affordable Places to Retire in the USA, according to NeighborhoodScout.com.  This online resource for buyers and investors across the country ranked neighborhoods around the United States according to the median home value and cost of living as well as other factors and gave them a score from 1-100 (100 being best).  With its beautiful surroundings in the Blue Ridge Mountains, mild climate and its median home value of $346,100, the Laurel Park neighborhood of Hendersonville, NC was given a high score of 95 out of 100.  The only two neighborhoods in the country to surpass Laurel Park were Brecksville, OH (who sco...

Located at the entrance of Laurel Park is a wonderful place for family and friends to gather. Little Laurel Green Playground offers natural walking trails, shaded park benches, a creek and pond with ducks. It also offer a gazebo for hosting parties and a kid friendly playground where children and adults play and socialize. Laurel Green was inspired by the Laurel Park Mothers' committee in September of 2003. Designer Tom Griswold and children's playhouse architect Ken Gaylord hit the ball out of the park on their design. The park is open from sunrise to sunset. Animals are welcome, provided they are on a leash and owners remove pet waste.
