Shhhh.  Listen.  Do you hear that?  Guns firing, clashing of swords, running feet, blasting of cannons, screams of agony, moans of the dying?  Can you see that figure in the pine grove?  He's wearing a uniform of sorts, it looks to be gray.  Confederate gray.  What is he looking at?  You?  Can he see and hear you?  Or is he simply maintaining his post?  Wilmington was the last of the Confederate south's trade ports to remain open during the last days of the Civil War and the men of Fort Fisher made that possible.  Led by General William Whiting Fort Fisher was finally defeated on January 15, 1865.  A few months later the South surrendered and the Civil War came to a close.  Or did it?  General Whiting was injured in that last battle and sent to a Union prison where he died of his injuri...

My daughter spent the afternoon with her daughter, niece and nephew at NC's Fort Fisher Aquarium in Kure Beach and was kind enough to share the photos of their visit.  Evidently, she was not the only one trying to get out of the heat, she said it was packed!  How awesome that we have such a "cool" place to visit -- just down the road a piece!  Admission is $8 for adults (13-64) $7 for Seniors (over 64) $6 for kids (3-12) 2 and under are free. Fort Fisher is a Civil War National Historic Landmark.  It was instrumental in keeping the Port Of Wilmington open during the Civil War.  I highly recommend a visit! This is a great welcome, isn't it?  We may not be the biggest aquarium you've ever visited, but we sure do make up for it with beautiful sculptures and easy to view and understand exhi...

Situated to the south of the City of Wilmington, Kure Beach is located on the Southern point of Pleasure Island in New Hanover County.  Kure Beach real estate is quickly and quietly becoming a destination of choice for visitors to North Carolina's beaches. Kure Beach's Climate Kure Beach real estate tends to have a humid climate.  July tends to be the warmest month of the year, with average highs in the upper 80's, and January tends to be the coolest month, with lows dipping into the 30's.  Typically, the late summer months (July, August and September) have the highest average precipitation levels, causing the humidity levels to rise. Hello to everyone today! Sitting here and having one of those days where the sun is out and it is a beautiful day but a bit nippy out. A cold day at the beach is still awesome though. I had a customer call today and ask about insurance and how it works. I explained a couple of things but referred him to someone in the industry just because let's face it I know it may come as a shock but I don't know everything. So I thought I would let you know a few things and always remember you can contact me at any time. If I don't know the answer I will find someone that does Homeowner's insurance policy - a type of policy covering the risks of homeowners, including damage, theft, fire, personal liability, etc. This insurance also called Hazard insurance-should be equal to at least the replacement ...
