Indian Trail NC Kids Love Saturday Mornings at Lowe's Home Improvement Warehouse. When the new Lowe's Home Improvement Warehouse opened last October in Indian Trail NC, it was a hit with the residents of this small town who no longer had to drive to Monroe or Matthews to buy products for their homes and gardens.  But who knew that Lowe's would become such a popular destination for Indian Trail NC kids on Saturday mornings?  You'll find 30 to 50 children with their parents eagerly building projects at the store on two Saturdays a month.  They're participating in the Lowe's Build & Grow clinics for kids. How do I know that the Lowe's Build & Grow kids clinics are so popular?  See that Lowe's employee with the red vest in the photo?  That's my husband, Jon.  He and his assistant, Beth, run...

McClain's Farm Produce in Indian Trail NC Union County NC has been the fastest growing county in North Carolina for the last five or six years.  You might think that all the new subdivisions, shopping centers, and roads would have pushed old-fashioned farm produce stands right out of the county or at least deep into its rural corners, but you will be surprised to learn that McClain's Farm Produce in Indian Trail NC is just five minutes from the intersection of I-485 and Idlewild Road.  After exiting the highway and traveling past a gas station, a bank, a grocery store, a pharmacy and several restaurants, you'll arrive at the McClain's farm where they grow the summer produce we've come to love. As we say here in the South, McClain's Farm Produce in Indian Trail NC "isn't much to look at"...

Bonterra Cafe and Market in Indian Trail NC. The Bonterra Cafe and Market opened this summer in the heart of Bonterra, an Indian Trail NC swim club community.  The cafe is already a hit with neighborhood residents and children, who stop in for gourmet coffees and sweet treats after spending time at the neighborhood swimming pool across the street.  On the weekends, you'll find the outdoor patio filled until late with people who are enjoying meeting and conversing with their neighbors.  The Bonterra Cafe and Market is also stocked with everyday items that neighborhood residents might need in a pinch, such as paper towels or dishwashing liquid.  Wouldn't it be great to have a place within walking distance of your home to buy a forgotten household item on short notice? What is unique about...

Lake Park, incorporated village in northwest Union County, is 15 miles from downtown Charlotte, but feels like a different time and place. Villagers have built a variety of homes here: traditional single-family homes, maintenance free patio homes, condominiums, and townhomes. The Village of Lake Park was designed by developers in the mid-1990s to create a small town atmosphere where individuals and families in every life stage could find a place to live and the community organizations and amenities that enhance a small town lifestyle. They did that and more; they created Union County's most walkable town. A landscaped park with a bell tower and a village green with gazebo dominate the Lake Park Town Center in the heart of the village. Town festivals, such as the Kite Festival in March ...

Is an Indian Trail NC relocation in your future?  You may want to consider a move to the town.  Two national publications have listed Indian Trail NC as one of America's best small towns.  Relocate-America included Indian Trail on its 2008 Top 100 American Cities list.  Family Circle Magazine has named the town one of America's ten best small towns in 2009. What makes Indian Trail NC such a desirable relocation destination?  Here are my top six reasons. With an estimated population of 18,000, Indian Trail is small enough to have a small town feel but large enough to have community shopping and restaurants within the town limits. Indian Trail is located in the southern suburbs of Charlotte NC, a vibrant New South city with plentiful job, shopping and entertainment opportunities. Indian T...

Bonterra Village is not a typical Indian Trail NC neighborhood.  Bonterra Village does have some of the same features found in other newer Indian Trail subdivisions. A landscaped parkway winds through the neighborhood.   The subdivision is divided into distinct sections with different housing types, styles and pricing. The Bonterra Swim and Tennis Club is the centerpiece of the neighborhood. Bonterra has a park, sports fields and a walking trail that encircles the subdivision. So...what features does Bonterra have that you can't find in other Indian Trail neighborhoods? You can live above your own store or office in Bonterra. The Bonterra Live/Work Units have unfinished first floors waiting to be finished for retail or office uses.  The upper two floors are finished as a 1700sf, 2 bedro...
