I think that it is really important to give back in some way.  I decided to help with the Relay for life this year at the Local Board of Realtors.  We were really concerned last year about meeting our goal and we did well over.  I am more concerned this year because of the economy is even worse but I am staying optimistic to at least give it our best shot.  As far as our little town go's per ca pita we have constantly raised the most money.  I think that is amazing!  This year I thought of having a Run-Bike-Run Relay.  I got one of my good friends that is another Realtor involved because I know nothing about running or biking and its her passion.  We are hoping it turns out to be a big success. I am also selling the luminaria's.  If you want to donate or participate please contact me.  ...

I can hardly believe it!  In the quiant little town of Franklin, NC we have the new Smoky Mountain Center for the performing arts.  Thanks to Phil Drake this 1,500 seat facility is slated to open in 2009.  This is a big deal for us here.  It is located on the Georgia Rd.  Hwy. 441 South. Its about 2 hours north of Atlanta and a hour to Asheville.  This little town is growing so fast.  We also new restaurants recently, Cody's, Fatz Cafe, and Sonic.  Our new extended community college is doing well also and we are already building another building next to the new State of the Art Library.   Southwestern has been rated 4th in the Nation!  Things are not slowing down here much in the commercial area.   Main Street Revitalizes FranklinThe Franklin Main Street Program continues its revitaliza...

GOD BLESS THE USA & THE VETS! I called my brother and sister-in-law to thank them for my freedom!  He said your welcome and I would do it again if I had the chance.  I did not get to talk to Karen, she was marching in the parade today and my brother can not walk well due to an old injury.  She sent me a photo of all of those who were in todays festivities.  She was the only women?  I know she didn't care, she is a trooper!  They are both retired now from the Navy.  I don't know about you but we owe them all at least a thank you.  If you see someone today or any day that you know has fought for us be sure and thank them for your freedom.   Thanks to all who have served and is currently in the service. Franklin North Carolinais a center of history, heritage and the mountain way of life. Franklin celebrated its 150th Anniversary during 2005 and continues to hold true to it's heritage while embracing the future.  I have seen many changes here in 15 years.  Franklin is growing fast, people found out about this hidden jewel of the mountains.  We are are alson know to be the Gem Capital of the World and the locals call it Gods Country.  Nestled in North Carolina's southern mountains, in the foothills of the Great Smokies, the area offers a change of pace and a never-ending supply of things to do.  The little Tennessee River runs along the banks, (The Greenway) here offering ,walking, biking, canoeing, tubing, picnicing etc.  We have Pickin on the Square Downtown all summer on Saturdays w/l...
