NC DOT in Johnston County Did a Great Job And Deserve A Lot Of Credit     So we got a good bit of snow here in Johnston County last weekend and in light of what the rest of the East Coast is dealing with,  well it seems a little trivial. But, that's why we live where it's warm...snow comes, we watch movies for a day, heats up, snow alllll gone I guarantee you, there are folks right now sore from digging out their cars, and spouses cars that are saying "screw this we're moving to North Carolina". The NC DOT in Johnston Co sent the plows into our neighborhood, Wyndfall which is a hilly wooded subdivision with small roads and circles, so it's not the best place to maneuver a huge truck with a plow on the front. So I'm watching this morning as the plow clears the snow out of the road and no...

So I'm playing with Photosynth, and it looks pretty cool, does anyone else use it? I wonder does it have any SEO benefit. It snowed here in most of North Carolina on Friday night and as I have two listings in Wyndfall I took the dog out Saturday morning for a snow walk and snapped these pictures of 114 Kirkland Court, later I went to 261 Wyndfall Lane.

Clayton, NC, Beautiful Older Homes Downtown. While the town of Clayton NC has grown quite rapidly, the majority of the growth as in most towns is in the surrounding area's where there is the land to build.               So the town has become home to many new people in the surrounding subdivisions. And like most towns Clayton is a town with plenty of charm and history. The downtown is comprised of shops, restaurants, office space and plenty of older homes.                     Some of these homes are completely refurbished and others in need of some TLC, and while none of these are currently for sale, they do crop up here quite regularly.                   So if downtown living in a historic building is for you, them send me an e-mail or give me a call and I will start looking.

Clayton NC tries to Lock Up Cats...Public Outcry Says No!! Cats Run Free.    ( Picture very kindly allowed by Dorothy Delina Porter who has some amazing cat photos on Flickr) So the Town of Clayton had decided to amend a town ordanence that would have made it an offense to allow your cat to stray off your property...as applies to dogs. Apparently cats were left out a long time ago when Johnston County applied the rule. On the evening of the proposed vote there was a public outcry with many people objecting to the ordinance. I heard of a large blow up cat with a sign decring the decision, and another person who would rather euthanize their cat rather than have them wear a collar,(I have to confirm these stories although could anyone make this up ?) So when it came time to vote three town...

Ole Mill Stream Subdivision in Clayton NC Has Some Amazing Homes.     Homes in this neighborhood range in price from the high $200,00 to the high $800,000. The subdivision is surrounded by woods and is bordered by the Neuse river, so some of the homes have water access. The ones I have seen have a long stretch of land with trees opening up to the river.       Some of the homeowners have built fire pits and seats from logs to enjoy the many evenings outside. This is a neighborhood for people who like the outdoors and don't care for a lot of restrictions. There is a pool but it is small!!               The homes were started in the late nineties and continue to today. The area around Clayton is starting to see a resurgence from the downturn and is poised to be a growth leader in the futur...

Tuscany in Clayton Gets A  Huge Turnout for Their Open House Event.     It Might Have Been The Food But I Have Not Seen This Many Realtors at an Open House in Years!       I'm telling you, they were everywhere today at Tuscany in Clayton on Highway 42 East. We were treated to a Rustic Italian Spread catered by Creative Caterers.               Tuscany is a magnificent development just outside Clayton and I'll be writing about the homes later but I was really encouraged by the turn out today a wet dreary day.      There was a tent set up with tables and agents were talking to mortgage brokers, builders, phones were ringing and there were three Sold signs already up. These are great homes in the $167,000 -$200,000 range

Black Lab Found on Covered Bridge Road in Archer Lodge.     I was driving on Covered Bridge Rd yesterday October 13th 2009 around lunch time when I spotted this beautiful dog dragging a chain about eight feet long behind him. He was darting across the road and forcing cars to slow down.             I was able to get him in my car and took him to the SPCA in Clayton. He is about a year old and seems well taken care of.           This is a no kill shelter and they will keep him until the owner is found or he is adopted. He was wearing an orange collar with no name.                 If you know someone who may have lost this dog please give them the number of the SPCA in Clayton (919) 553-3749
