Portofino Equestrian Community in Clayton, Open House on Sunday The house in question is the personal home of Norwood and Sandra Thompson, the developers of Portofino. It is an amazing old/new house that was originally further back in the woods of Portofino and then moved to it's current location. There was a basement dug and the house positioned over it. When Sandra and Norwood purchased the land that is now Portofino they renovated the house.They added a section to the back of the house but you would never know it is not part of the original structure. Who Nicked My Blog Post?            Go on admit it you took it and hid it on me didn't you? I wrote a blog post on ActiveRain on Friday titled Open House in Clayton This Weekend at Wyndfall There Will Be Three Houses Open.  and copied it to Trulia and Blogger. Nine minutes later it was position three and six on page one of Google for the search term "open house in Clayton". Tina from Skylines says there will be some great wines to taste at her restaurant, Skylines (919)550-7619 in the Southern Village Shopping Center on Hwy 70 W in Clayton. the wine tasting is tonight Friday June 18th from 6-7.30 and it is a great deal. CAESAR SALAD Clove of garlic, finely chopped two anchovies, chopped teaspoon of dijon mustard juice from one half fresh lemon two tablespoons of worchestershire sauce one egg 1/4 to 1/2 cup of olive oil parmesan cheese croutons large head of romaine lettuce Place first five ingredients into a wooden bowl and whisk to combine. Break egg into the bowl and mix into the first ingredients. Pour in the olive oil until desired dressing consistency. Cut the head of lettuce into bite size pieces and place in the bowl on top of the dressing. Drop in a couple of handfuls of croutons and parmesan cheese to taste. Wine Tasting and Dinner at Skylines Cafe in Clayton North Carolina.   Great night of tasting wine and a superb dinner (with the boys) at Skylines Cafe in Clayton on Hwy 70W. The deal was $10.00 per person for the tasting, but if you bought a bottle of wine you got the ten dollars back, it is a killer of a deal because the wines were really good. We tried a variety of wines from Linda Domaswho is a wine producer in Mclaren Vale in Southern Australia, most of whose wines get bought in the UK and Singapore. We had a fantastic Viognier/Chardonnay, a big old Shot Bull Rose a Shiraz brilliant! Alchemy a blend of Granach and Shiraz  of which we took a bottle home.
