As real estate professionals, we often meet people who are moving to Charlotte from other cities, states, and in some cases, a different country. Being natives of Charlotte and absolutely loving it here, we have absolutely no problem boosting our Queen City up in the eyes of a newcomer! We often tell people, "Charlotte's environment is one that is attractive to families, businesses, employers, and visitors, and we are proud to call it home." Although we feel very strongly about Charlotte, NC being one of the best places to live in the United States, we decided to do some research and offer anyone who is interested some cold, hard facts about: WHY CHARLOTTE, NC IS THE PLACE TO BE! Charlotte is home to Bank of America and Wachovia Wachovia and Bank of America combined employ over 35,000 p...

Homes For Sale in Myers Park - Charlotte, NCClick HERE to view all properties for sale in Myers ParkPopulated by some of the city's oldest and largest houses, Myers Park's streets are lined with towering oaks, the remaining originals of which were raised on James B. Duke's New Jersey estate before being transplanted to the new development. Designed by John Nolen of Boston in 1911, Myers Park was initially a "streetcar suburb" whose residents commuted to town via electric trolley. Nolen discarded the original grid street pattern of Uptown and Dilworth and instead planned curving avenues following the area's topography. Myers Park is largely a product of the building boom of the 1920s. The traditional charm of Myers Park is breath taking while driving down the tree lined streets. Once you...

If you're looking to move to Charlotte's Ballantyne area and are wondering what the heck there is to do there, you've come to the right place. There's (almost) no need to ever leave this fresh new community, as it offers everything from movies, to live music, shopping, restaurants, golfing, you name it. The list of great restaurants is vast. Whether you're in the mood for Italian or Thai, ribs or breakfast for dinner, you really can't go wrong. As far as shopping goes, Ballantyne runs the gamut. With two, yes two, Targets, numerous boutiques for men and women, specialty stores, and everything in between, there's no need to ever go a mall again. Ballantyne has a unique movie theater, as well. It's unique for two reasons really, as most people compare it's appearance to a space ship, but ...

I couldn't believe my eyes after reviewing how many exclusive leads we have recevied so far this month for Charlotte, North Carolina. We actually had a client this morning tell us to "please slow down the leads" as they are receiving so many. Currently (for our program) Charlotte is one of the best relocation cities in the country and we desperately need Realtors to assist our home buyer leads. Can you imagine we are actually receiving so many leads, we can't keep up with them due to lack of Realtors within our porgram. If you are a Realtor and love to work with 10 - 20 exclusive home buyer leads per month we want to hear from you. You like that title, huh? Well, its true... we became our own worst enemy! I am not talking about the mortgage meltdown.. that was more a combination of greedy execs, Wallstreet investors, a soaring and inflated housing market and a government that continues to ignore growing problems until everything falls apart. No, I am talking about the dreaded "rate shopper." You can't blame the potential borrower. They are simply playing the game that the mortgage industry created. They go from lender to lender asking for their "best rate" as if it is some hidden national treasure they must uncover. Items such as professionalism, service, knowledge, follow through... these don't matter any more. Why? We told the public they didn't matter! Think about it like this. Imagine if you will an ad on the ...

Located along North Davidson Street, NoDa, as the locals call it, could easily be Charlotte's official arts district. With gallery crawls every first and third Friday of each month and an increasing number of eclectic watering holes with surprisingly good food, NoDa has a little something for everyone. Located just a couple of miles from the heart of downtown Charlotte, living in NoDa provides a quick commute and easy access to the interstate, but seems far enough away from any hustle and bustle. With many of the neighborhood's bungalows getting serious face lifts, and new modern townhome and apartment construction, NoDa is a great mix of native Charlotteans and professional young transplants. If you're looking for culture and a friendly atmosphere, NoDa is the place to be.

It was a boy's weekend for me, with my sons Colton (2) and Christian (5). We took the light rail from south Charlotte into downtown and went exploring. Children under the age of 5 ride free and my round trip ticket was under $3. A visit to the Discovery Place was a highlight. We saw an exhibit on dinosaurs and had a blast looking and learning at all there was to see. The boys loved it, and I must admit that I was entertained as well. After a stop for ice cream, we walked to a park that was having an Irish Festival, with live music, food, dancing, and no admission charge. Then we made our way to the Mint Museum, where children under 5 get in for free and an adult ticket is only $6. We had a really good time, and didn't have to break the bank to to enjoy all that Charlotte, North Carolina...

If Mecklenburg County commissioners approve Daniel Levine's proposal, First Ward will be growing quite a bit more than it already has by year's end. With more and more current and future Charlotte residents looking to the advantages of living in Center City, Levine Properties has major plans for twenty acres of the hip downtown area. Anchored by at least one new UNCCharlotte classroom building, the project will include over 2,000 residential units (apartments and condos), 282.000 square feet of retail and restaurants, a much needed 2 million square feet of office space, and of course, a 1,500 car parking structure. The light rail runs directly through the area as well, making it easily accessible to the rest of the city. A direct line to the main campus of UNC Charlotte via the light ra...

Uptown Charlotte NC: No Vacancy? Uptown Charlotte NC:  No Vacancy? Our Uptown Charlotte area is thankfully, still going strong!  Uptown Charlotte NC:  No Vacancy?  Well check out these recent statistics:  we've gone from a 16.6% Uptown vacancy rate in 2005 to an UNDER 1% rate in 2008 Q2; we seem to be bursting at the seams!  Landlords in the Uptown area are confident, reflecting that they're getting a solid $30./square foot, a significant increase over last year.  Contractors & developers are also very confident and most are continuing to build.  Some builders/developers even some saying, "We just can't seem to build fast enough!"  What incredible news for our ever-changing banking center!   More office space is not expected in Uptown until 2009 when at least 3 more towers are expected...

Charlotte the City of Many Cats . . . All Uptown! Charlotte has a theme going on . . .   Is your city or town stuck on a theme? It’s funny that Charlotte the Queen City of North Carolina seems to be stuck on a Cat theme! Case in point, both the transit system and professional ball teams use cat names.   The transit system that includes both city buses and light rail transit use CATS and Lynx respectively. I guess you could say that the cat theme really started when Charlotte decided to use an acronym for their name; Charlotte Area Transit System, CATS.   The newest of the cat theme came with the addition of Charlotte’s light rail transit named ~ Lynx. The Lynx is Charlotte’s $462.7 million, 9.6 mile long modern system that serves 15 stations. This is less than one year old, it opened ...

The area of south Charlotte known as Blakeney is about to become even more of a shopper's paradise. The popular shopping center is already home to the city's best Target (in my humble opinion), Old Navy, Marshalls/HomeGoods, Banana Republic, Harris Teeter, Off Broadway Shoe Warehouse, and Starbucks. Great eateries include 131 Main,Brixx Pizza, Salad Creations, McAlister's Deli, Chili's, Coldstone Creamery. Encore Bar & Bistro, and Five Guys (great fries!). Coming soon, directly across the street will be a new shopping center with Best Buy, PetSmart, Brilliant Sky Toys & Books, AT&T, DenimLounge, Just Fresh, Asian Fusion, Salsarita's Fresh Cantina, Winestore and Omaha Steaks. With Charlotte real estate expanding all the time, homeowners have plenty of options to beautify their new homes ...

The quaint subdivision of Windsor Park will never be the same. ABC Extreme Makeover team came to Charlotte on July 28th to visit the King family. While the family was on vacation the ranch home was demolished and a new 2 story 5100 square foot home was built. For 1 week the East side of Charlotte was the center of attention. The home is located on Sudbury Rd in the Windsor Park Subdivision. Shuttle busses ran from Eastland Mall to take on people out to see the construction site. Of course the main road was blocked off. We all just wanted a chance to see the cast of Extreme Makeover. WSOC our local new station kept us updated daily of the progress. The famous "Move That Bus" was Monday 8/4 at 2:00pm. The episode will air sometime in October. During the process the Charlotte Realtors Asso...

South21 Curb Service If you are new to the Charlotte area you have to make a trip to South21 Curb Service , it opened in 1955, and it truly is a local favorite by many Charlotteans. Not far from Ovens Auditorium and Independence Arena. It's traditional drive-in that you pull up beside a little stand with a menu and a microphone, park, roll down your window, and place your order. Soon, a carhop-type guy with the trademark South 21 black fedora hat and red jacket will deliver your food to your car. Their main staples are hamburgers, hamburger steak, fish, and chicken, all served with fries or onion rings! Their two most advertised entrees are the "Super Boy" deluxe burger, with all the traditional trimmings, and the "Fish-O-Burger" which is two pieces of Leviathan-sized fish piled onto ...

Getting around town is becoming increasingly more pleasant in Charlotte and it's surrounding areas. Of course the rising price of gas is prompting residents to experiment with carpooling and Charlotte's underated mass transit systems, which helps in decreasing traffic. (And who said we weren't ready for light rail? Seems like perfect timing to me.) The main reason for making the average 24.8 minute commute each morning more enjoyable is newly repaired roads. From Center City to areas like Indian Trail, main thoroughfares are getting serious face lifts. It's nice to know City Council is using our tax money wisely! The majority of Randolph Road, a main artery between downtown and neighborhoods such as Eastover, Elizabeth, and Cotswold, recently improved. New asphalt was laid over a speedy...
