4 WAYS TO MAKE YOUR BEDROOM LOOK BIGGER USING PAINT1. Paint your walls light colors. The reason this works is simply because lighter colors will reflect the light, making it seem brighter and roomier. Darker paint absorbs light, which will feel smaller and more constricting. Paint the walls a light, lively color to make a small room feel much larger. When thinking about your bedroom design, try to stay away from dark colors.2. Monochromatic paint.Coordination is an important feature of any room design and the best place to start is with your paint. Use monochromatic paint colors throughout the room to create fluidity and space. Painting the room with different or opposite colors will segment off portions of the room when viewing, making it feel smaller. In a small room, use a couple of s...

If You’re Buying or Selling this Year, Here’s What You Need to Know It may not feel or look like spring in many areas yet, but as of Monday March 20th, it’s going to be here! So does that mean the spring real estate market officially begins that day as well? Or does it kick off the weekend before or the weekend after since the first day of spring falls on a weekday? Actually, none of the above! In fact, in Charlotte, NC, the spring market has already sprung! Many people in the industry consider January to be the start of the spring real estate market but, I’m a big believer in February being the start of the spring market.  I HATE DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME! AND SO DOES GRUMPY CAT! YOU'VE HEARD IT BEFORE...  IT'S MY ANNUAL RANT ABOUT HOW MUCH I HATE DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME!How much do I hate Daylight Saving Time? I pose this question each year. The answer each year to this question NEVER changes, as there are probably not enough words in the English language to express my hatred of it! I realize that I'm not necessarily in the majority when I say I prefer my light in the morning as opposed to the evening. And are we actually "saving" time? Or are we are simply moving daylight from the morning to the evening. This morning it was still dark at 7:00 am! Why early mornings should feel like the middle of the night and not the start of a new day filled with light is something I'll never understand!  Something not quite ...

YIPPEE! It’s Daylight Saving Time On the East Coast After missing a full week of everything in my life due to Covid (well, except our AR ZOOM call!!), I finally enjoyed a long day of outdoor activity - even though we had a little cooler Carolina weather today. Now, it’s time to reflect on the positive impact of Daylight Saving Time. Being given longer evenings works extremely well for me both personally AND professionally! While setting the clocks forward one hour in the spring doesn’t ‘create’ more daylight, it does change the time the sun rises & sets. Personally, I love getting home from showings or listing consultations and having an extra hour of free time with my husband, taking in the sunset. We are so looking forward to tomorrow evening, having dinner at 6:30 and catch the 7:30 ...
