Speechless Sundays - Post-Ian Art in the SkyDuring Ian's run through The Queen City, we had lots of trees and limbs down - all over the city.  Most of our historic areas suffered some century-old tree loss but, we are so thankful to have lost no lives during this hurricane as we did during Hugo in 1989. During and after Ian, we had massive power outages across the Metro but, today we are down to being under only 500 outages in the area. We lost power briefly but, we were well-prepared with 2 generators filled with gas, extra tanks of gas and plenty of food...& libations, of course!  Imagine our excitement to see the skies part. allowing the sunshine to do her magic and then...the incredibly brilliant red artwork in the sky for our evening sunsets. It was almost as though the artist want...

Even as the city endured the days, weeks, months, years of The Great Recession, Myers Park was one of the neighborhoods that didn't feel the depth of depreciation/devaluation that many of the Charlotte neighborhoods experienced.  In 2022, the Myers Park real estate market is in great demand to both relocation buyers and to those moving within the area. Below is the current market snapshot of the Myers Park neighborhood.  Y...

National One-Hit Wonder Day Today, September 25th National One-Hit Wonder Day recognizes musical artists who had just one Top 40 single hit. Have you got a favorite one-hit wonder song? It's amazing how often I'll hear a song on the radio that brings back memories and find out that it was the one and only hit a particular artist had. Did you know that the #1 one-hit wonder song of all time was "Macarena" by Los Del Rio? Here's a list of 10 of one-hit wonders, which are some of my personal favorites. I'll bet you'd be surprised that these recording artists didn't have a follow up hit, especially as these songs were such huge hits in their day and very much part of the popular music consciousness. I know when I hear these songs they bring back all sorts of wonderful memories and I'm amaz...
