Today I took a mental health day.I had an agent to handle any issues that would come up.So while fishing, my phone rang 6 times. Why did I answer?Because, I need to be in control. As it turned out i was able to handle all but one call from my boat. When I was done with a call, I went back to fishing. It was a very relaxing day!

There is only one duo that always brings a smile to us in Minnesota... Ole and Lena got married in St.Paul.  There were heading North when they stopped off in Hinckley for a break.   Ole put his hand on Lena's knee...Giggling, Lena said... "You can go varder of you vant to." So, Ole drove to Duluth.

Where there is a will there is a way.  you just need to know the right approach. Two Golden agers were discussing their Husbands.  "I wish my Harry would quit biting his nails.  he makes me so nervous." Said the first. "My Billy used to do the same thing but i got him to stop." repleid the other. "How?" "I hid his teeth." Again we just need a little thought is all.

A good friend got married a bit over a year ago 44 and single, he jumped in the frying pan with both feet. Our circle of friends gave him all the encouragement he needed..."What?!  ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND?!!!" But, he didn't listen.  Last night he was crying in his beer because he had to miss a Basketball game that he had front row seats in just to go to a party with his wife. Why didn't you guys stop ME?!"  Oh well they never listen.  Case in point... Ad seen in local newspaper... FOR SALE:45 volume set of Encyclopedias.VERY CHEAP!! Reason for sale...No longer needed.Got married last week, Wife knows everything!

Well, the warm weather thawed a few people out enough to make to spring.  The warm weather of the last 5 days has dropped our snow cover to just a small amount. But, Don't you worry, by early next week we should have nice covering of the white stuff again. I don't mind the snow.  If everything is  going to look dead and brown for 8 more weeks, it may as well be white.  Much nicer to look at!

Fond autumn memories--Holding tightly to my kindergartener’s hand as we stepped off the bus into the Lendt Pumpkin Patch! We walked hand in hand to the tractor for our ride into the field to pick out the perfect orange beauty to carve into a jack-o-lantern for our front porch step. With dozens of other excited children and their parents or grandparents by their sides, we sat on our hay bales for the bumpy ride across the well worn track. A few minutes later tractor pauses and everyone scrambles out to find their idea of perfection. Large or small, every pumpkin was a beauty in the eye of the pumpkin picker! Within minutes, everyone had a golden prize and boasts were heard among the kids as to which pumpkin was more perfect. Wonderful memories were made that day! A couple of years ago, ...

I know that at our house...Grandma can't do much wrong in the eyes of he young kids.  (If they only knew the truth) but, that's for a different blog. Everyone was seated at the table when young Jimmy started eating as soon as his mother gave him his plate.  "Jimmy, you need to wait so we can pray."  "I don't have to", Jimmy replied. "Yes you do.  We always pray before a meal at our house." Mom reminded him. "That's at our house, but this is Grandma's house and she knows how to cook!"

People love living in Wyoming. And I am not talking about the state; I am referring to the City of Wyoming, located just three miles north of Forest Lake, Minnesota. Though some may think the area was named after the state out west, it was named by Dutch and German immigrants who settled the area when they arrived in the late 1800's. They had relocated from the east coast and their new Minnesota home reminded them of Wyoming Valley in Pennsylvania. With the recent annexation of Wyoming Township, approximately 7000 people call the city of Wyoming, Minnesota home. Here is a top ten list of reasons why this small town is such a great place to live: #10-The Wyoming Library. Giese Memorial Library is a full service library open 6 days a week (closed Mondays). Located in the center of the com...

You need to be careful when setting an example.  You should know all the information before taking the leap.  A larger company with factory workers decided it was time for a shake up and hired a new CEO.  The new CEO decided he was going to rid the company of all slackers. On tour of the company, the new CEO noticed a man leaning up against the wall.  The room was full of workers and he wanted to let them know he ment business.  He asked the man..."How much do you make a week?"  "$400, a week, why" he asked. The CEO said, "Wait right here!"  He walked back to his offce and was back in two minutes.  He handed the guy $1600.  "Here's 4 weeks pay...Now, get out and never come back!" Feeling that he had made his point in grand style, he looked around the room and asked..."Does anyone want t...

Plastic Recovery Technologies...REMEMBER THAT NAME !!  Located in Wyoming Minnesota, they are the only place in Minnesota that recycles vinyl siding.  This firm worked for over 5 years developing the technology to do this great service.  They will bring out a dumpster  for a small fee, and come and get it when you are done.  This is a MONEY SAVER!!!  Take your old siding to the land fill and you pay a steep price. Plastic Recovery Technologies.  651-895-9024   Call them for more information. This is one of the best recycling programs I have heard of in years!!!!!

The number of new listings was down again for 2009 in Wyoming, Minnesota along with the average sales price of a home in this Southern Chisago County community. Since 2007, the average sales price of a home dropped by over 30%; over 15% last year alone. A high point to the year is that homes are selling at a faster pace with an average of 47 days less time on the market in Wyoming, Minnesota compared to last year. Sellers appear to be getting just over 91% of their asking price which is in line with several other north east metro communities. If you are considering selling your Wyoming home, this might be a good time to list with less inventory on the market to compete with.

I was driving on the freeway in Wyoming, Minnesota.  A billboard caught my eye, and I wish I had not been driving.  I had to go back today during rain and sleet to get a picture.  This IS a real Billboard and not just a photo shop version. I had to post it here for I know many of you will get a hoot out of it as I did. X X X X   And just so everyone knows, this was taken from the service road next to the freeway!

What could be more fun than a fall visit to the pumpkin patch? If you like to pick your own, try Lendt's just west of 35E on County Road 22 in Wyoming or Pinetree just east of 35 E and northof County Road 22 in the Linwood/Stacy area.
