My realtor is real happy with Stage-Show-Sell...Example #1   Royal Oak Like many stagers I've been working on a good relationship with a realtor.  After several months and many successful sales he BELIEVES He knew that this house would have sold for tens of thousand less without the work of Stage-Show-Sell. We had an offer within a couple of weeks, which un-fortunately fell apart when the buyer lost his job just before closing. The home continued to receive great attention from the buying public and had another offer shortly.     The Original Post Stage-Show-Sell, offers affordable home staging solutions in the Birmingham - Bloomfield and surrounding areas in getting your home ready for the market. The Red Run Subdivision of Royal Oak Michigan is located within a one mile square area between twelve mile and thirteen mile that runs from Rochester Rd. to Campbell Ave.  It gets its name from the Red Run Golf Club located nearly within the center of the community.  Just north of the Red Run Golf Club is a park that is another great plus to what this subdivision has to offer. While many residents may belong to the Red Run Golf Club, this is not what primarily draws people to the subdivision.  The homes consist mostly of bungalows and ranches averaging between 1000 and 1200 square feet built in the 1950s.  A neighborhood with large trees, sidewalks and a feeling of community appeals to people while remaining very affordable.  When I first became a Realtor, my owner spoke of this neighbo...

The Clay Glass and Metal Street Fair is one of Royal Oak's Chamber of Commerce most popular annual events! I attended the Royal Oak in Bloom and did not want to pass up another opportunity to stroll downtown Royal Oak.  Between the Clay Glass & Metal Show, Royal Oak in Bloom and the Antique & garage sale, an estimated 80,000 visitors come to the city each year.  This show is dedicated to artwork created with heat and this was the first year that metal was included.   The event also featured live demos, children's activities, entertainment and food (of course). Sidewalk Cafes were open and I was tempted to get a table and people watch but wanted to also visit the Berkley Art Bash going on the simultaneously.  As evidenced in the following video, I love to focus on children and apprecia...

There's a lot of money to be made with large apartment complexes, but is it worth the liability exposure and the work it takes to manage?   Detroit, MI - Real estate investors who choose income-producing property realize that there is more potential for profit in multi-family buildings and apartment complexes than there is in single family residents.  On the other hand, there is a lot more work involved in managing these buildings.   A lot of real estate investors would never consider purchasing an entire apartment complex on their own.  Some might go into this venture with several other partners.  This is essentially what they are doing when they purchase REITs.  By being a shareholder in a REIT, they are part owner in a multi-family apartment building; therefore, making dividends on t...

I grew up in the small town of Otsego in Western Michigan and the Memorial Day parade was a big event.  Family and friends congregated at my parents for a 2-block walk with lawn chairs to reserve our corner where we knew many people including those in the parade itself.  Growing up, I was in the parade a few times myself.  Over the years I have often returned to find my mom and dad hosting a post parade gathering with a pot of coffee and rolls from the local bakery.     While parades and memories are fun, Memorial Day is really about remembering and honoring our veterans both current and past.  It is a day to reflect on our freedom and our country—a day to appreciate the sacrifice that so many families have endured to protect the American people and democracy.  The Memorial Day Parade...

I love finding neat inexpensive pieces of art and tweaking them.  This piece is an original and dated 1941.  That's pretty cool I think. This picture was used in a staging a few months back         I used it here because the gold frame complimented the brass on the fireplace and the ceiling lights.   This is what it looks like after painting the frame a very soft white.       Stage-Show-Sell, offers affordable home staging solutions in the Birmingham – Bloomfield and surrounding areas in getting your home ready for the market. We service both home sellers and realtors. We have the experience, our own rental furniture and accessories to stage many homes. We specialize in Estate work.   It was a beautiful day for the 16th annual Royal Oak in Bloom – perfect for a stroll among the flowers provided by over 60 vendors.  Hosted by the Royal Oak Chamber of Commerce, there were gazing balls, yard ornaments and ceramic pots but it was the flowers, ferns and friends that were the highlight.  Being on Mother’s Day, many families were attending after Mother’s Day Brunch so what better way to further celebrate the love and contribution of the mother’s in our lives than a stroll through Royal Oak in Bloom.   While I was out to capture the local flavor of Royal Oak and enjoy the flowers, I happened across Jon Muresan, Mr. Rainbarrel who says on his GrassFire RainBarrels handout “A Rainy Day is a Good Day!”  He goes on to say that rain barrels conserve water and lower water cost. ...

Vintner’s Cellar in downtown Royal Oak first came to my attention when they followed me on Twitter. I always check out local tweeter’s and my interest was peaked—not to mention that I love wine.  Having been a food & beverage server in a previous life with a basic understanding of wine, I saw this as a great opportunity to go “behind the scenes” to observe wine making.  Also hearing they were hosting a wine tasting event with @winegenie (Master Sommelier Claudia Tyagi), I thought it would be a great opportunity to showcase a new local business in Royal Oak.  I interviewed co- owners Lisa Berry and Sheryl Racey about the experience of blending, bottling, and labeling custom wines.  I was especially intrigued with the tremendous sacrifice of Lisa and Sheryl with having to taste the wine...

Recently I had a Seller in my office wanted me to Short Sale his home.  The Seller had already stopped making payments, not because he could make them, but because he was advise by "A Short Sale Specialist" that for some reason is now out of the picture.  Seller is now months behind.  He has a new business that was doing very well, but not on paper.  He currently shows financial hardship, but that hardship would end in the 2nd and 3rd quarter, his company profits are going to be too great (nice problem to have).  The seller did say he could have his partner hold the profits until the short sale was done.     QUESTIONS TO ASK YOURSELF: Do I think I could have Short Sold his home? Yes. Did he have enough fact to create some good fiction? Yes.  Would I be trading my principals for pay che...

Spring has sprung for at least a few days in Michigan and our gradson had a few days off of school.  He loves being outside and loves the zoo.  This was such a perfect day for a visit. Thining he might get a little bored, silly me, I gave him the camera to document our day. Below and the vidoes he took.  We also created a video from all the photos.  We had fun ----he had fun---- and he learned how to post to youtube and create movies.   Couldn't have been a better day.       This bear was really annoyed with the workmen. The polar bear exhibit is one of the best in the country. We walk thru a tube and the bears swim all around us.   We took a couple hundred photos and they are the ones we thought the best. The seals are in the same exhibit with the Polar Bears     The snow fox kept us b...
