The City of Rochester held its Annual Recongition Dinner to acknowledge the many volunteers who commit their time helping the city.  We are turly a blessed city to have so many people helping at all levels to make and keep our city great.  This year's food was catered by Catering by Katherine.  What a fabulous dinner!  Everthing from the salad to the dessert was incredible.  The staff was outstanding and it definitely was great to have a local business cater our dinner. A good time was had by all and I can bet that next year will be just as well attended as it was this year.         05/23/2010

Well, the buzz on the street today is the dreaded "Short Sale" or as noted the "Long Miserable Sale" after a front page cover story on Short Sales appeared in The Oakland Press.  The government is changing the rules and the banks will have 10 days to accept an offer.  So the banks will no longer be able to drag their feet.   Too bad this didn't happen sooner.  Wait a minute the story fails to say this is only voluntary, not mandatory.  When will this political game be over.  The bad judgment and greed of the banks and the government has done nothing but force people out of their homes.  The banks are capitalizing on the misfortunes of many people today and the sad part is they do not care either how many lives they have destroyed by not helping them.  Granted, we sign contracts with the... 05/23/2010

WOW!! Submitting offers today to offices representing bank owned properties can sure leave you questioning what is right and wrong.   Let me explain.  My clients wrote an offer on a bank-owned property, we submitted it on Monday around 12:00 p.m..  At the time of submission there were not any offers on the table.  Towards the end of the day I received a call from the Listing Agent stating that the bank countered but was unclear of the counter so she was going to ask for clarification before proceeding to tell me.  I said no problem and I waited.  The next day around 10:15 I received a call from the agent informing me of the counter.  The bank countered only our conditions and close by date; Not the price.  I said okay let me call my buyers and I will call you back.  (Doesn't this sound ... 05/03/2010

I cannot believe another year has passed, most may say that as a New Year begins but I think of it when the Mayor gives his State of the City Address.  Tonight was our State of the City Address and it was very well attended.  The words progress, fiscally responsible and economic development were used like name dropping.  Well, if this is name dropping we need to spread the positive words around.  We are an extremely lucky city to have a 70% Residential tax base that supports it city.  And proudly I might add.
