Good news for Oxford Township MI residents who live and drive on those gravel roads, their daily rides are about to get a whole lot smoother. Last week, the township board voted 5 - 1 to allocate its $55,443 in Tri-Party Program funds toward the purchase of gravel to spread on approximately 5.8 miles of local roads. The township's road committee met with a superintendent with the county road commission, and determined the following gravel roads needed a fresh coat of stone:W. To foster a more business friendly environment, Oxford Township is inviting its major property owners to a meeting to discuss future land use in the community and the potential rezoning of its main traffic and business corridors. The meeting took place at 7 pm Wednesday, at the Oxford Veterans Memorial Civic Center. Most of the major landowners invited to this meeting currently possess property along the M-24 corridor. The township's Future Land Use map is being redone this year, a mixed use zoning would decrease the amount of red-tape and township meetings facing a landowner who wishes to develop his property.
