I was inspired to write this post as I was driving around recently with my car windows wide open and enjoying our Indian Summer here in Michigan.  I personally have not thought the regular summer was over yet, besides the kids being back to school.  We've had a week or two of cold spells (and even a frost advisory) but other than that the weather has been gorgeous.  Michigan tourism has benefited greatly from this outstanding summer.  I recently visited Grandville's Millennium Park, (owned by the people, operated by Kent County) with some friends for a birthday celebration and a fun, relaxing picnic.  We had the chance to enjoy each other's company and watch all the people at the beach and kids playing in the water park.   This park is almost 1500 acres of re-claimed greenspace (it was... 09/21/2007

So I have done it.  My wife and I have bought a new house and we are scheduled to close on the 26th of March.  So what does that mean and why do you care?  The main reason is that we are experiencing what every other home buyer in the Grand Rapids area has experienced.  Anticipation, excitement and dread.  We haven't moved in 3 years, do you know what can happen in 3 years?  Yes, you are right, accumulation of "stuff".  I remember when we moved from our first home in Grand Rapids, to this home in Grandville.  We where only there for 1 year, and I was amazed at the massive amounts of "stuff" we gathered just in that short time of home ownership.  Now we have been here in Grandville 3 years in a great home.  Several closets, a walk in pantry, 3 different living areas that had to be filled... 03/18/2007

So I may have mentioned that my wife and I bought a new home we close the end of the month.  In the buyers market we are in for the Grand Rapids Real Estate Market, I couldn't get out of my home what value I place on it.  What am I going to do?  We put it for rent in Grandville.  Over 2000 sq ft of living space with 3 bedrooms 2 1/2 baths and an attached 2 stall garage with fenced backyard.  We are asking $1350 per month. A great suburb of Grand Rapids, MI, close to the Rivertown Mall and most major restaurants in Grandville.  I have been trying to rent it out hardcore now 3 days.  I listed my home on GRAR (the Grand Rapids Association of Realtors) also Craigslist.com and Rent.com.  I have had more calls and inquiries into my home for rent in the past 3 days than I have had on my 7 list... 03/13/2007

First start off with 263 homes for sale in Grandville Schools. For the month of February in Grandville 31 homes for sale expired. 21 Grandville Homes went pending or a real estate agent found their buyer a home in Grandville. 19 homes actually closed so the seller sold the home in Grandville and hopefully the buyer is happy with the new home in Grandville, MI.  That is quite a few homes sold in one month. 40 homes off the market, but 263 other homes for sale in Grandville Schools.  The average sold price for a home in Grandville was $166,200.  A little bit higher than the average price for a Grand Rapids home. so 263 divided by 40 homes means that there is still a 6.5 month supply of homes for sale in Grandville.  That makes it a buyers market for the Grandville real estate market.Brows... 03/04/2007
