Dear First Time Homebuyer, I had an interesting experience when we were shopping for Westland condos and Garden City condos the other day and I just wanted to share it with you.   This pertains to all first time home buyers in the country whether they are buying Metro Detroit real estate or Phoenix real estate under $100,000. You are not going to get the Taj Mahal for $39,000!  You have to be realistic.  A 900 square foot condo for $39,000 you are going to have to do a little work on it.  The mortgage and taxes on it is going to be less than you would have to pay in rent.  Please Mr, Ms, or Mrs. first time home buyer.  You can't expect to buy a up to date, perfect Metro Detroit condo for under $50,000.  I know you would love to buy that Northville condo at 6 and Haggerty but it is a $10...

When selling your home whether it is a Michigan home or a home in any state you need to pay attention to the rules. There are unwritten rules to follow when selling a home.Have a clean and neat home.  When your home is dirty, beds unmade, clothes laying around it gives Michigan home buyersa bad impression.  They  feel if you haven't taken the time to clean up to sell your house that you probably haven't taken care of your home.Let the light in.  Turn on the lights, open the shades.  A dark gloom house won't sell as well as a home that is bright and cheery.De-clutter the home.  If nic-nacs are all over on the shelves, table tops it looks messy.  Get rid of the junk and make your house seem uncluttered.  Again a neat house will sell quicker than one that is full of junk and clutter table t...

Detroit, MichiganForeclosures are still on the rise in Metro Detroit and it's surrounding suburbs such as Northville, Warren,  Farmington Hills and many other cities.  What does that mean for the Southeastern Michigan Real estate  market?  It means that many homeowners have to price their homes lower to compete.  Why would a buyer buy your home if they can buy a foreclosure right down the street or in your subdivision for $10,000 or $30,000 less. What does it mean for Detroit real estate, Oakland County real estate, Livingston county real estate.  It means that home prices will continue to fall.  Sure there may be a little uptick in prices in the spring but they will continue to fall through the year.Homes are still selling but it is not unusual for them to be on the market for over a ye...
