I remember my first baseball game at Tiger Stadium in Detroit. It was 1969 and I was 13. The Tigers were playing a night game against the Baltimore Orioles. I was a huge baseball fan and I'll never forget the look of the green grass and the smells of the stadium. I went with some of the kids in my neighborhood, courtesy of one of the dads who worked at GM and had company season tickets. We sat in the upper deck behind home plate...awesome seats, and the Tigers won 4-1. Over the next 25 years I probably saw another couple hundred games, sitting everywhere from the nosebleed bleacher seats to the "Tiger Den" with waitresses bring beer and dogs to your seat. I sat in the left field seats for game 4 of the 1984 world series against the San Diego Padres. What a great place to watch a game. I...

(Real Estate One)
I believe the Metro Detroit Real estate marketis very similar to most of the country.  I believe we here in Michigan went into the real estate bubble first.  I don't know if we will emerge first. Homes across the country are losing value.  I have read stories of 40% in some areas and 20% in others.  It is the same way in the Metro Detroit real estate market.  There are some cities like Northville and Novi, Michigan that have lost as little as 20% in some subdivisions.  Then there are towns like Canton Michigan, and Brownstown that have lost 30 - 40% of the homes value in certain subdivisions.  The city of Detroit homes have gotten hammered.   You can buy homes very cheap in the City of Detroit.   Many of them need work.   I recently helped a client buy a 1000 square foot brick home in De...

Metro Detroit Homes sales on the rise.  You can see all the statistics for Metro Detroit real estate by clicking on the links to my previous blog.   What does this mean for Metro Detroit home sellers?  Is the Metro Detroit real estate market coming back?  Are Michigan home prices rising? The Metro Detroit real estate market is not turning at this moment.  I can count on my hand five different people that I know that are in foreclosure and letting their house go because of different reasons.  What that means is that there are many more foreclosures on the horizon.  I don't believe we have seen the end of foreclosures. Metro Detroit foreclosures are pushing prices down in this area.  Homeowners are finding it is hard to compete with some of the prices the banks have put on Detroit area fo...

Alright everyone, I'm soliciting a little feedback.  Although we do have some changes coming around to our website next week, I would like to see what you think about our website (www.WholesaleMi.com) and some of our deals.  We feel we have one of the more comprehensive sites for a wholesaler as far as providing a buyer with all of the due dilligence they need to make a buying decision. My questions for you are: 1.  What suggestions or constructive criticism do you have for our website? 2.  What do you think about our Detroit Wholesal deals.  Are these good enough for you?  Do they fit your criteria?  What would make them better? 3.  How do these deals relate to the deals you're finding in your area? We're consistently finding brick homes with 3 beds, 1 bath, basement, and a garage in g...

There are many non-profits out there in the world that deliver varying degrees of good to the world.  There are even fewer yet that make an immediate impact to your local area in something that directly affects you.  Motor City Blight Busters (MCBB) does all of that and more.  They were founded by John J. George who was fed up with seeing blighted houses in his Detroit neighborhood that not only became a haven for criminal activity but also became a focal point for bringing down the neighborhood.  How motivated would you be to keep your house and landscaping up if there was a burned out house right next door?  John explained it to me by relating it to cancer.  If you don't get rid of the blight early, it's going to spread throughout the whole neighborhood and become a much larger proble...
