This past Sunday my wife surprised me with tickets to go see the Detroit Lions play the Atlanta Falcons at Ford Field.  We had never been to a Lions game before and also had never seen Ford Field.  It was a lot of fun, and the traffic wasn't too bad getting there, but I would recommend to others that they plan to get to the stadium at least two hours early.  It takes some time to get parked, get through the crowds, through security and to your seats. We had some very nice seats in the Club Level on the 50 yard line.  It was a perfect position to see the game, and in fact the NFL announcers box was directly behind us and just about ten feet up, so they had a similar view that we had as they called the game.  It was disappointing that the Lions did not win this weekend, but being at an NF... 10/25/2011

It was a special time.  I was the first child in our family to graduate from school.  Okay, I was the oldest so that makes sense. Okay, okay, it was kindegarten!  My mother found this photo of me on Grandma and Grandpa Tierney's house in East Detroit.  I never realized it but it turns out I was quite the fashion plate - check out the puff sleeves, Peter Pan collar, bric-brac on the skirt and to complete the ensemble ruffled anklets with saddle oxfords. This past weekend my wife and I journeyed over to downtown Detroit to meet some friends at the renaissance center on the pier, near Greektown.  This building is a big beautiful piece of architecture, and it overlooks the channel between Detroit and Canada.  In fact you can look across the water and see the Canadian side.  It was a beautiful day, and we had a wonderful dinner with an unusual backdrop of large feighters, ferry boats, water skiiers and coast guard boats skirting through the channel.   It was a great day, and we really enjoyed seeing all the activity of people walking around the area.  The downtown district has a lot to offer in terms of entertainment, and it was the first time I had been back there since I went to a atate Realtor convention in January. 08/09/2011

WANTED:  Pontoons for a Crafstman lawnmower. NO MORE RAIN. PLEASE.     I need the pontoons to put on my lawnmower so I can get all of my grass cut. I've tried cutting and succeeded (almost) at least three times. There are still areas in my backyard that are too wet to mow. I don't have any puddles or standing water but the ground is mushy. My neighbors on all the sides of my yard have standing water in their yards. I watch the ducks come in for a landing on a daily basis. I could cut it but the mower would leave ruts and tracks in the lawn and I'm not looking to tear my yard up. I'll just bypass that area and wait for it to dry out.
