Timonium, MD  Farmer's Market - Something to do with Your Purchases - Patty Pan Squash Wednesday is market day in Timonium, MD.  The Farmer's Market is held inside the main gate at Maryland State Fairgrounds.  I have been writing a regular blog blog  weekly about what to do with your purchases.  I had several requests for this to continue.  I decided to write it the day before so my readers could make a list before going to the market.  Most people walk by these succulent morsels and leave them because they look weird and they don't know how to cook them.  Your vegetable side has never been so easy.    Patty Pan Squash Ingredients: 9 or 10 Patty Pan Squash Fresh Basil - roughly chopped 1 Onion, sliced 1 clove of garlic, crushed and chopped Olive Oil/Butter salt and pepper For a family o...

Great BBQ Slaw I don't like mayonnaise, well actually it doesn't like me so I'm always looking for ways to make salads I like ...

Timonium Farmer's Market - Things to Do with Your Purchases - Sauteed Chard and Greens Tomorrow is the Timonium Farmer's Market again!!  Market day is Wednesday from 3 to 6pm.  Last week I purchased rainbow chard and beets with the greens on them and this is what I made with them.  My kids loved it.  The idea came from something I saw on Emeril Green last year on the Planet Green network.  Shopping List: Garlic, Onions (Shallots), Swiss Chard and Beets (with greens) Sauteed Chard and Greens Wash the chard and beet greens thoroughly.  Remove the stems from them and set aside.  You can chop the stems up later and use them like you would use celery in soup or anything else.  Put a large pot of water on the stove to boil with about 1 tsp of salt in it.  Submerge the greens in the hot water ...

Tabouli I precook 2 measuring scoops of bulghar wheat in my rice cooker following the instructions for regular long grain rice.  Chop 2 medium tomoatoes Chop 1 burpless cucumber chop 1 small vidalia onion chop half a bunch of fresh cilantro, remove the stems before chopping chop about 2 tbsp of fresh mint Set aside these vegetables an...

Timonium Farmer's Market - How to Prepare Your Purchases Yesterday I went to the Timonium Farmer's Market and while I was picking over the vegetables and fruit to make my purchases people kept asking me what I was going to do with what I was buying.  They also kept asking me how to prepare different items and not all the vendors were aware or knew how to prepare the produce they were selling.  By the time I got to the second vendor I had a trail of people following me to learn what I was going to make and how I was going to prepare my purchases.  I had the luxury (I didn't think so at the time) of growing up on a farm.  My father always planted about an acre of vegetables along with raspberries, strawberries, pumpkins and other delicious items that my mother would then put down or prepa...

Timonium, MD Farmer's Market Is in Full Swing on Wednesday's 3pm-6pm The Timonium, MD Farmer's Market is in full swing.  Although the market is small, the produce is fresh and delicious.  Every Wednesday from 3pm - 6 pm local farmer's and local businesses gather inside the main gate to the Maryland State Fairgrounds on York Road.  This great venue has become a regular place for me to pick up my weeks vegetables.  The growing season is still early, but you can get fresh zucchini, yellow squash, baby cucumbers (perfect for pickling or salads), fresh onions, red chard, beets, garlic, tomatoes, corn, green and yellow beans, new potatoes, fresh from the tree peaches, raspberries and so much more.   As summer moves on you'll be able to get other kinds of fruits and vegetables and perhaps the ...

Today I went on a listing appointment and found this miniature Village. These homeowners are in the process of getting their home, of 42 years, ready to go on the market. It will take a bit of time to decide what to do with everything, divide it up among the family and what to take with them. One of the things that will not be moving is the room below full of eye candy. Not sure if I will get the listing..they are interviewing another agent or two.   But I had a fun afternoon in this former bedroom which now houses this complete train garden in a miniature village setting. It is a wonderful collection by a couple who have worked on this in partnership. He built the suspended railroad bridges and she hand painted all the buildings. There are many stories that go with this amazing collect...

Driving to pick up my son from school, I realized it was 5 pm -- and there was still LIGHT BLUE SKY above! It wasn't dark! Suddenly my heart felt freer, and I got out of my car with a spring in my step, and had to take a photo. Longer days are on their way. Suddenly my motivation has returned! I hope yours has as well!         ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For any real estate needs in Towson, Maryland or around the Baltimore Metropolitan area, THINK MARNEY IN MARYLAND!     OK, yet another iPhone photo, and I really wish I had my *real* camera with me to capture this. The moon was so full and SO large in the sky -- for once, driving home wasn't DARK! :-) My almost 4 year old son kept saying that the moon was running as we drove. It made my night! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------   For any real estate needs in Towson, Maryland or around the Baltimore Metropolitan area, THINK MARNEY IN MARYLAND!   Marney Kirk Keller Williams Excellence Realty 1850 York Road, Suite K Timonium, MD 21093 E-nail: realtormarney@yahoo.com Website: http://www.realtormarney.com Office: 410-560-5858   Cell: 410-493-4884

The Maryland State Fair is the best 11 days of summer!! Get out this weekend to the fair, it ends on Monday night.  Take in the rides, the exhibits, the cow palace, and of course the fair foods.  Don't forget the funnel cake, corn dogs, candy apples and the cotton candy (I heard on Fox news this morning that cotton candy doesn't have as much sugar in it as everyone thinks) and don't forget the Turkey Hill Ice Cream.  Yummy!!!  I'll see you there on Monday!! If you are thinking of buying or selling a home give me a call today and we'll talk about the market conditions and what your home could possibly be worth in today's market place if you are thinking of selling.  If you are considering buying a home, there is no better time than now to buy.  The tax savings and wealth building a lone ...

11 Best Days of Summer - The Maryland State Fair 2009 The 11 best days of summer are about to begin on August 28, 2009.  I don't know about you, but I've love the fair since I was a little kid.  The rides, the exhibits, the competition of local farmers and crafts people and so much more.  Not to mention the funnel cake and grilled sausage with peppers and onions.  Then to top it off Turkey Hill has an ice cream concession selling their delicious ice cream.  Then there are the animals, the equestrian competitions and the horse races.  And, through out the fair there are live performances by some great bands.  This year Boyz II Men, Gary Allen and Gavin McGraw are giving great performances. The fair runs every day until September 7, 2009.  ADMISSION: Adult admission $8, Senior admission (...

I posted a blog at my website about Towson House Values, Timonium House Values, and a success story of a home selling VERY QUICKLY in Timonium based on following pricing trends! Are your sellers being more realistic now? Are they starting to price AHEAD of the market instead of chasing it? Or are they still overpricing based on what things sold for 4-5 months ago? With an average of 9 months inventory in Baltimore County, two that I have listed sold in 30 days or less because they paid attention to the statistics and priced AHEAD of it. Hoping your sellers are doing so as well!
