Hillmuth Automotive Hillmuth Automotive Gaithersburg MD - A TERRIBLE experience Note: I will not use Hillmuth Automotive Gaithersburg MD employee names and/or automobile make/model details Our ordeal with Hillmuth Automotive Gaithersburg MD started at the end of March 2011.  One of our cars was running rough, hesitating during acceleration, and the Check Engine light was on.   We took the car into Hillmuth Automotive Gaithersburg MD, explained the symptoms in detail to "John Doe", and then left the car in their capable hands. When "John" from Hillmuth Automotive Gaithersburg MD called the next day, he recommended the following: Oil change, lube, and filter (which the car needed as part of the appointment) Replace the spark plugs Replace the front brake and rotors Replace left and right ...

Thursday flower photographs from the Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden These spring flower pictures were taken during a recent rainy Saturday visit to the Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden in Richmond, Virginia. It is a wonderful place to visit. The conservatory and gardens are beautiful. We arrived just after spring showers and the blooms were enhanced by droplets of rain.  When you are in the Richmond area, also be sure to visit the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. Always have your camera in hand to capture those special moments. If you have spring pictures to share, please post them in the comments for this blog. Flowers in the rain at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden Good Friday and Saturday morning was a rainy time in Richmond, Virginia on our recent visit. Fortunately, the rain did stop for our Saturday visit to the Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden. Cloudy days are good for taking flower photographs and many flowers look pretty good when enhanced by rain drops. So, don't let a little bad weather deter you from visiting flower gardens to enjoy the colors of spring. Always have your camera in hand to capture those special moments. Some photographers recommend having a water spray bottle as part of your equipment when taking flower pictures. I have never done that but it is not a bad idea. If you have photographs from your special places, please share them in the comments for this post. Dolores and Ro...

Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden When Dolores and I visit Richmond, Virginia, we are usually there to see exhibits at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts.  On Good Friday, we toured the Picasso exhibit  Picasso: Masterpieces from the Musée National Picasso, Paris and other special exhibits at VMFA. On Saturday, we went to the Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden to see the orchid exhibit and tour the gardens. http://www.lewisginter.org/  "Tulips are still star of the show in April and more than 11,000 are featured. These include 3,000 inside the Conservatory, 2,000 in outdoor containers and 6,000 in ground displays. Companions to the tulips are tens of thousands of daffodils." We highly recommend both of these destinations when you are in the Richmond area. Dolores and Roy Kelley visited the Lewis G...

Spring at Brookside Gardens One of the primary reasons for living in Montgomery County, Maryland is the outstanding quality of life that is available in the area. One of our favorite places to visit is Brookside Gardens in the Wheaton Regional Park. I attended the Washington Daffodil Society's 62nd Annual Daffodil Show at the Brookside Gardens Visitor's Center to photograph the flowers. It was a beautiful afternoon and I took a walk through the park to enjoy the images of spring. These Canada Geese were enjoying one of the ponds in the gardens. Check the website for a full schedule of activities at Brookside Gardens. www.brooksidegardens.org If you have photographs from your favorite places, please share them in the comments for this post.   The Washington Daffodil Society presented its...

Daffodils are blooming for home buyers in Montgomery County Blooming daffodils celebrate the beginning of the spring residential market. Home sellers are fixing up their homes to be listed for sale. The inventory is low in several price segments.  Home buyers are anxious to take advantage of the very low interest rates and the available home grants for first time home buyers. Lender owned foreclosures are available for those that are seeking fix up situations. Real estate investors are expanding their rental portfolios since the prices are attractive and the rental market is strong. Owner occupant purchasers have discovered that the FHA 203(k) program allows buyers to purchase and renovate fix-up properties and to have all of the work completed before moving in. It is a time of great op...

Kentlands Grey Squirrels Grey Squirrels represent a large percentage of our furry neighbors in Kentlands. They appear to be very heathy this spring as they raid the bird feeders and enjoy the wooded sections of the community. If you have pictures of some of your furry neighbors, please share them in the comments for this post. Wednesday, April 20, 2011, walk through Kentlands. Seeking the colors of spring.
