Pinterest: Chrysanthemums Board   As you expand your social media presence on Pinterest, you can be very creative as to the types of boards you post. If you are in residential real estate sales, you may wish to have boards on topics that interest home buyers.  Think in terms of boards on window treatments, outdoor space ideas, kitchen or bath remodeling or any number of other topics. Storm Camp in Gaithersburg, September 13th   As I write this blog, we have a severe storm warning in Montgomery County, Maryland. We never know if the next storm may be the one that causes damage to our home. The hurricane season also presents some additional safety threats. The Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service has announced the date for a Storm Camp that will help prepare area residents for disaster situations. Book Suggestion: Consent To Kill by Vince Flynn   CIA counter-terrorism operative Mitch Rapp is the primary character in a series of thirteen books by Vince Flynn. I read Consent To Kill (2005) as part of my plan to complete the full series. If you enjoy thrillers, you will enjoy all of the Mitch Rapp novels. Sadly, the author died in June, 2013 at the age of 47 after a long battle with prostate cancer. One of my personal goals is to read at least one book each week for personal pleasure. Flame Lily, Kentlands Photowalk   I like to walk through our home community to get a little exercise and to be aware of what is happening in the neighborhood.  When I add my camera, I am photowalking and my focus is on finding the colors of the season in the flowers along the way. Dark 'N Stormy Holiday Blogging Beverage   Our Labor Day Happy Hour beverage is a Dark 'N Stormy. The traditional Dark 'N Stormy at our house is 2 oz. of Gosling's Black Seal Bermuda Black Rum and 6 oz. of Gosling's Ginger Beer.  If you are on a diet, you may wish to use Diet Gosling's Ginger Beer. There is no substitute for the Gosling's Rum but you may wish to try a variety of the available ginger beer labels if you cannot find the Gosling's Ginger Beer at your favorite store. This afternoon, Dolores used Saranac 1888 Ginger Beer.

Save Your 2014 Kentlands Facilities Passes   The pool season officially ends tonight, September 1, 2014. We have a very hot day and Labor Day certainly does not feel like the end of summer this year. Even though you family will not be needing pool access, do not discard your 2014 facilities passes. The Kentlands Citizens Assembly posted the following notice in regard to facilities passes: As the pool season is coming to a close, we strongly encourage residents to store their facilities passes in a safe place until we begin updating pool passes for 2015. Although the pool will be closed, facilities passes are required for access to the fitness center. Kentlands Dog Swim Reminder   Today, Labor Day, is the date for the 2014 Annual Dog Swim in the Kentlands main pool. The Dog Swim will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. The lower pool deck back gate will be open for pets to enter the pool area. Remember that pets are not allowed in the Kentlands Clubhouse. The Lap and Baby pools will be open until 9 pm. And then will close for the season. A busy Saturday morning in Kentlands   I took a long walk through Kentlands and Lakelands this morning and watched some of the Kentlands/Lakelands 5K Run/Walk and joined in the finish line festivities. I was much impressed with an 87 year old man that had a strong running pace as he crossed the finish line.  There was plenty of entertainment since a number of musical groups were performing along the race route. Kentlands Annual Dog Swim On Labor Day, September 1st   The Kentlands pool season is scheduled to end on Labor Day, Monday, September 1, 2014 at 9 p.m. The Social (Main) Pool with close at 4 p.m. for the annual Dog Swim that will take place from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m.  The Lap Pool and Baby Pool will remain open until 9 p.m. The lower pool deck back gate will be open for pets to enter the pool area for the Annual Dog Swim.  Pets are not allowed in the Clubhouse. Be sure to have your camera in hand for pictures of the dog swim. Parking Restrictions for the Kentlands/Lakelands 5K Run/Walk   Kentland and Lakelands residents will want to pay close attention to parking restrictions before and during the Kentlands/Lakelands 5K Run/Walk. Avoid getting a ticket and having your vehicles towed. The following notice was distributed by the Kentlands Citizens Assembly. Updated Repaving Schedule for Kentlands Mews   The Kentlands Citizens Assembly is distributing an updated asphalt repaving schedule for the community owned mews (alleys). The previous schedule should be discarded. Garage access will not be available while the work is in progress.  The project does not involve the public streets.
