MOM, My Organic Market, A FABULOUS GROCERY STORE IN FREDERICK, MARYLAND. I took my new Toyota 4Runner into the dealership yesterday for a "hands on training session" for all of the buttons and bows on the dash.  Sure, I could read the manual, but that wouldn't be any fun.  Since I was about 1/2 hour early, I drove into the shopping center across Buckeystown Road from the Toyota dealership and found a new (to me) grocery store with fabulous produce.  WELCOME TO MOM - My Organic Market I generally shop in Loudoun County Virginia at Harris Teeter or the Giant, except when I'm in Bethesda, MD and get close enough to Balducci's to drop in for many fabulous gourmet treats. Schefferstadt Architectural Museum in Frederick Maryland is featuring Oktoberfest on October 18th and 19th at the Museum, hours 10am-5pm Saturday and noon-5pm Sunday. A festival for the whole family with not only the traditional German oompah band and locally brewed beer, but also a juried crafts show featuring over 30 crafters showcasing their own works from jewelry to paintings to ironwork, baskets, weaving and woodworking. The "In The Street" festival for 2008 spans two days this year. Starting on Friday, October 3rd, from 6pm to 9pm is "Light The Creek" at the Carroll Creek Linear Park and Amphitheater. There will be live music concert, food, beer and wine. There will also be an opportunity to support local non-profit groups by buying a floating luminary and launch it in the creek. One luminary will be selected and all luminary proceeds will be given to that organization. Saturday morning there is a one mile race  at 9:30 am. The festival hours are 11am till 5pm. There will be 5 stages with live entertainment, beer and wine gardens, food, kids crafts, and lots of local Frederick County Wares to buy.
