However, with the booming economy came skyrocketing house prices. Many of the homes we fell in love with quickly became out of reach financially. Perhaps we should take a second look at these same homes today. With prices dropping by over 30% in some markets and with interest rates at historic lows, this may be the perfect time to do what we and our families have always dreamt of doing – buying that second home. - August 2012 -   Westport MA real estate sales remains stable. In August there were 13 homes sold in Westport compared to July when 14 homes Sold in Westport. SOLD HOMES:The lowest priced house in Westport in the month of August sold for $196,000 which was a Cape on President St. In July the lowest priced home sold for $215,000. The Highest priced home in Westport in the month of August sold for $800,000, it was the Historic Stone House at the Head of Westport - Built by Capt Howland in 1793. Compared to July the highest priced home sold for $530,000 and it was located on River Road. There were no Condos Sold in August. One multi family sold for 240,000 on Sanford Rd. Rents are skyrocketing and homes are at bargain prices. These two situations are also causing some sellers to consider renting their home instead of selling it.
