On Friday, August 21st, Knights of Columbus St. Joan of Arc Council #3384 of Orleans will be holding a Yard Sale from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM at St. Joan of Arc Church in Orleans. In the event of rain, the Yard Sale will be held inside the Parish Hall. All of the proceeds from the Yard Sale will be used for the continuing charitable works and contributions of the council. The Knights are seeking donations of saleable treasures for the yard sale. If you have any items to donate to this event, they can be delivered to the St. Joan of Arc Parish Hall, located at 61 Canal Road in Orleans, between 9 AM and 11 AM on Monday, July 20th, Wednesday, July 22nd, and Thursday, July 23rd. Orleans is in the Lower-Cape area of Cape Cod.  It is bounded by Harwich, Chatham, Eastham, Brewster, the Atlantic Ocean,and Cape Cod Bay.  Less than half of the properties in Orleans are second homes (40%+-).  Orleans' beaches are part of the National Seashore and are on The Atlantic Ocean.  Even with its high second home percentage, Orleans had very few of its homes in pre-foreclosure as of May 6, 2008. On a side note, the Lower Cape area is called the Lower Cape instead of the Outer cape or Upper Cape because of latitude.  The latitude of the Upper Cape is higher than the latitde of the Lower Cape and visa-versa.
