Print marketing is a significant contributor to our marketing plan. We participate with a full page ad that displays a sample of our latest listings and the new status of several of them.  This newspaper is known as “Local Town Pages” and it’s mailed to every home and business in the town of Franklin MA.  This is a monthly newspaper and people DO read it because it’s mailed. Where has the time gone?  It was 6 years ago from September 30 that I joined ActiveRain.  In 2009, the market in Franklin MA had tanked, and the phones were not ringing.  We had 4 subdivisions that needed to be sold, to satisfy the banks and save our builders!I work at the same firm, RE/MAX Executive Realty, as Bill Gassett, and my question to the broker/owner, Bill Wright, was “how is Bill Gassett continuing to get business?” The answer was he’s blogging on ActiveRain.Of course, my next question was “what is blogging?” I had no idea how to blog. This is our monthly full page newspaper ad that runs in The Local Town Pages in Franklin MA.  I never miss a month, and I love print marketing.  It gives us a "big bang for our buck," and we can't ask for much more than that from our offline marketing.  We receive listing calls in response to our offer of a Free Market Analysis.  Most real estate agents are not excited about print marketing, and that's a blessing to me and my team members.  It sets us aside from all of the others. My favorite marketing sources and preferred groups to support are school athletic programs.  Every year I purchase a full page ad in the game programs for each sport that is offered to girls and boys at Franklin High School.  This is the full page ad that will help support the FHS Girls Ice Hockey Team, and this year Maddie Hinckley, the daughter of Renee Hinckley in our marketing department, is a member of that team. Supporting local athletic groups in our school system is my favorite source for donations.  School athletic programs are always the first budget item to be slashed.  Some sports now require parents to pay for the activity, and many parents are not able to do that within their household budget. Donations go a long way in helping kids enjoy the benefits of competitive sports...

There are no guarantees in marketing.  It can be very expensive with little or NO return.  I’m of the mindset that ALL methods of marketing work, when done consistently and in a proper fashion.  I’m also of the mentality that a successful marketing piece needs to reflect the expected results.  The size of the piece is in direct proportion to the result that the marketer has for a goal. A full page newspaper ad, as an example, will far exceed the results one reaps from a small block ad.  A direct mail marketing campaign that lands at 25 homes will certainly not compete with a mass mailing of 2,500 homes.  This holds true for online marketing, as well.  We are listing agents, and most of our business comes from offline marketing.  However, I market diligently online in search of fresh lis...
