Webb was very upset when local news reported a mother of four dying as a result of a clothes dryer fire   Webb Dickson was recently interviewed where he responded to a news report of a recent dryer fire that took the life of a mother of four.  The woman died after saving her two daughters.  Her two boys were able to climb out a window and have neighbors call 911.  Unfortunately, the woman was unable to escape before firefighters could respond.  "Dryer vent lint is very combustible and a fire will burn hot and spread quickly," Webb explained.  "I was very saddened by this news; this tragedy could have easily been prevented.  Most people are not aware that their clothes dryer is more likely to cause a fire than their furnace or stove."   Webb Dickson is the owner of Dryer Vent Wizard, a n...

Montgomery Energy Partners has plans to build two power plants in the Greater Lowell area.  While there hasn't been much debate over the 80 Megawatt plant to be built in Lowell, the larger 348 Megawatt Plant proposed for 134 Billerica Avenue in North Billerica has peaked the interest of many residents in Billerica, Chelmsford, Tewksbury, and Lowell. The proposed plant would be fueled by natural gas with a diesel back up system.  The site would hold a large diesel tank and another large tank of aqueous ammonia. While an engineer representing New Hampshire based DG Clean Power, a partner in the proposed plant, stated at a recent Chelmsford Board of Selectmen's meeting that the natural  gas burning plant would have no impact on the environment and surrounding communities, many local residen...

The Boston Globe published an article, in the Globe Magazine, on April 1, 2007 highlighting five popular communities for first-time home buyers. The five communities are Lowell, Billerica, East Boston, Watertown and Brockton."A shift is occurring in the area's housing market. First-time home buyers who find it impossible to afford a house in most of Boston and its expensive suburbs - despite a year of declining real estate prices - are fanning out. They are building communities in outlying suburbs or creating hot new markets for condominiums, which a growing number of young professional buyers find more affordable and more pleasing than houses."Read The Article
