Crescent Park in the Bywater NeighborhoodFall of 2018, Walk The Mississippi RiverGreat Walk in New Olreans        Crescent Park is not that old but is improving everytime I visit it. It is also going to get larger and touch in the French Quarter of New Orleans. The area was once warehouses and part of the Port of New Orleans. The park has some great variety of plants and some wonderful views of the Mississippi River.        There are lots of plants and pathways which make it a great walk and bike ride along the river. The park is now 1.4 miles long.         There is also a lot of condos and second homes close to the park and the Mississippi River. There is more places to eat and drink outside of the park. The neighborhood is blooming and improving with the additions and improvements in ...

World War I MonumentCommerating Ninth Ward Residents3800 Block of Burgundy Street       The Monument was erected in 1919 to honor the residents of the Ninth Ward that took park in World War I. There were 1231 men and one woman named on the monument. The monument was initially constructed in the middle of Macarty Park.        The Monument was moved to edge of Burgundy Street in 1951 so that the playground at Francis T. Nicholls High School could be enlarged. Kids needed a place to play during physical education class. This is where I went to high school so remembering seeing it everyday for 3 years but knew little about the Monument.      I find few people know about the Monument that live in New Orleans so it is good to bring it to people attention. Hard to believe it has been there for...

Great to give Flyers to BuyersMy son Marcus is now in real estate. I designed these fliers for him to give to buys and sellers about things they may want to know. This really helps buyers and many will use the things you write doown for them. I give it to them and talk about the purches. I also tell them about the companies that are great to use.I make many more fliers. These are the ones I told him to start with.

Historic New Orleans BracketsBywater and Marigny HomesDesigns and Colors Bloom !    The late 19th Century introduced brackets on the front of homes. They are now very distinctive and beloved to see. Most were needed for support of porch or overhang. Others used brackets for ornamentil purposes. Influenced by the Arts and Crafts Movement. Many were made locally and many were mail ordered from a mill that specializeed in brackets.       At the end of the 20th century brackets became like work of arts with so many colors that really began to show off the designs. Now it looks like Artwork on the home. At his time the trim, windows, shutters were all brought into the world of colorful designs. This historic barckets do not exist in many places in the world.     Take a look at the brackets I...

You see a lot of art work on warehouses and homes in the very artistic Bywater. Named Bywater as it is on the Mississippi River. Once known as the ninth ward.            It is a great neighborhood to walk and enjoy the colors and places to visit. A lot of great places to eat and drink. French Quarter DoublesLots of Changes over the Years      Many doubles can still be found within the French Quarter.   Some are purely residential while others are rented out for income purposes.   Other people have converted these doubles into singles -- taking down the walls to enjoy the beautiful architecture, particularly that of the shotgun doubles.   Many of the Quarter's inhabitants do not like to venture away from their home or their jobs, so living near their workplace is a perfect and ideal situation.   Doubles have also been converted to condos.  Condos in the French quarter makes this a great second home for home buyers to enjoy living part of their time in the New Orleans French Quarter area.

Love the Balconies and Galleries Love the Hanging Plants        The balconies and Galleries in the French Quarter are very hard to duplicate any where else in the world. These owners are often condo associations that plant and hang ferns and other plants on the balconies.           The Galleries have more plants as they have support from the ground and may have several levels in which to show off the hanging plants. The City of New Orleans should give all these owners a discount on their taxes for making the area so vibrant and colorful.

French Quarter Parade WalkColorful People WalkingKrewe of Cork    Founded in 2000, the Krewe of Cork has grown into a world famous Mardi Gras and wine industry phenomenon. Krewe members gather on selected Fridays, usually the first Friday of each month, at restaurants throughout the area for T.G.I.C.D (Thank Goodness It’s Cork Day).      One of the many parades and Fests near Mardi Gras that people enjoy watching the parade and all the colorful people drinking wine while they walk the French Quarter with several bands. Fun to see all the colorful people in the parade. If you own a second home in New Orleans this is a great one to watch. You can walk from most areas close to the French Quarter. If you are on St. Charles Avenue then taking the streetcar is an easy way to get to the French...

French Quarter CornersHomes, Condos and ShopsSo "Unique and Historic"      The French Quarter is known for its historic buildings, galleries, windows, hanging baskets and much more. The buildings on the corners are unique and beautiful. Many are condos on the second and third floors. Many have a business on the first floor while others are liiving areas.       The Corner Store is common for the quarter. So many of these great corners have galleries with wrought iron rails and supports. Living on the corner with wrap around galleries are a true historic feature found in very few spots in the USA.       Often times the galleries look like fern city with all the plants and greenery. Many times they all decorate for the many New Orleans holidays.
