As a resident of Watson since 1994, I have seen a tremendous growth in the community with people and development.  Since 1994 Watson has developed many businesses such as resturants, strip malls, additional elementary schools, several named subdivisions, and even top named stores.  When I first became a resident of this remarkable community, there was only a 2 lane highway(hwy.16), a one diamond ballpark, and barely no businesses.  Now, Watson has a 4 lane highway from Denham Springs into Watson, a newer and larger ballpark facility, and several of the finest subdivisions such as Easterly Lakes, Lakes at Belle Terre, Oak Hills, and several more in development.  I am a very proud resident of this fast growing community as well as Livingston Parish. Spring is in the air in Livingston Parish!!!!  Baseball starts in full swing in the month of February with 2 tournaments scheduled in the parish.  The weekend of February 21-22 boys age bracket 9-14 gets under way in Watson at the Live Oak Ball Field. WBRZ and the Advocate held a morning interview on Wednesday, February 18 with Livingston Parish President Mike Grimmer regarding the stimulus bill impaction on Livingston Parish. During the interview, Parish President Mike Grimmer discussed the hope of the stimulus bill impaction on the parish along with other parish possibilities.  Mr. Grimmer also spoke about the I-12 project, the North Oak Hospital project(Satsuma/Summa Crossing), and the Our Lady of the Lake property purchase of 210 acres (Walker).  Mr. Grimmer also elaborated on the current and projected growth path of Livingston Parish.  As a resident of the parish I feel the Stimulus Bill would be a great assistance for a fast growing Livingston Parish. If you haven't visited Denham Springs, Watson, Walker, or other areas of Livingston Parish lately, you will find many new interest spots and many new subdivisions.  One of the now established firsts was the Bass Pro Shop off the Denham exit of I-12.  There you can get just about anything you need for fishing, hunting, and outdoor activities.  Just down the road from the Bass Pro Shop at the Juban exit, there are plans for a shopping center and you'll see new subdivisions popping up.  One of these subdivisions is Clearlake.  These garden style homes are clustered around the banks of some beautiful finger lakes.  Many have decks where you can catch fish like the one this resident caught.  Ah, yes, and getting there....
