Wow! This Mom may get the message across more effectively than thousands of articles, lobbyists, bloggers and TV talking heads. In this sadly hilarious rap, she encapsulates the the root causes of the foreclosure crisis and the human tragedy of families losing their home. Foreclosure, forebearances, bank paperwork and runarounds. This is a must see. This rapping mom may finally get the decision makers's attention.

Topic:  Marriage and Mortgages FAQs Q: Could one spouse's bad credit negatively affect the other? A: If a couple is applying for credit jointly, say for a loan or credit card, then yes. One person's lower score can negatively impact the interest rate the couple will be offered. This is because every borrower has three credit scores, and lenders use the lowest "middle" credit score of the two borrowers. We have seen many situations in the past in which one borrower was dropped from the application – but only if the lower score belongs to a non-working spouse. This can create a serious issue, however, if the income is needed in order to qualify. Q: Can one spouse's low score negatively affect the couple's chances of securing a mortgage? A: Yes, if one borrower has negative credit items, s...

I just wrote a very brief article, with a graph included, showing the asking price of homes for sale in Prospect Ky.  For months and months, the median asking price has been just about the same, with shockingly little variance.  But this past week, there was finally a little movement, only 1%, but compared to what it had been, it seemed worth writing about.  If you are interested, I just posted this article on my Posterous blog about Prospect Ky Homes For Sale.

Even as the median asking price of Prospect Ky homes for sale remains remarkably stable at $500,000, inventory levels have been dropping fairly consistently over the past several months.  There are now currently about 40 or 45 fewer homes for sale in Prospect than there were just six months ago.  While that doesn't sound like too many, Prospect only had about 275 homes on the market in June and a drop of 45 units represents almost a 20% drop.  It would be nice for home sellers in Prospect if this drop in inventory was accompanied by a rise in sales prices, or a shortening of time on the market, but that is not the case.  It simply appears that the market is still quite soft, and many sellers have simply decided to take their homes off the market as winter approaches.
