The Belknap Neighborhood is located 5 miles SE of Downtown Metro Louisville Kentucky.  In the 2000 census it was stated to have 3,630 people with 55% being female and 58% being college graduates.  Bellermine University, a small private Libral Arts College is located on the Boundary of the Belknap Neighborhood.  The area was largely undeveloped until the very early 1900's.  In fact at the intersection of Douglass and Bardstown Road there was a stagecoach stop called Two Mile Horse!  I am sitting right there now writing this blog.  St Francis of Assisi was one of the first churches in the area and is still an active and vibrant neighbor in the area.  One of my favorite Highlands events is the blessing of the animals at SF.  Animals of every kind show up for their blessings and treats!
