I heard on the news today that Wal-Mart announced that they are going to allow their greeters to say Merry Christmas again this year after last year changing it to Happy Holidays so as not to offend anyone.  Well let me tell you that I was offended by it, and am glad to see them change it back.  What is your opinion?  Should it be happy holidays?  Or Merry Christmas?  My vote is Merry Christmas.  When I look at my calendar that is what I see, Christmas, right there Dec. 25th.  I find it odd that people would be offended when someone wishes them a good day on a day that is recognized as a National holiday.  11/09/2006

It is November 9th, and today and yesterday it has reached over 70 degrees.  Yesterday was in the 80's.  It has been some very beautiful weather and it sounds like tomorrow morning we might get at least a little bit of rain that we have so desperately needed.  I hope that everyone has enjoyed the recent weather as much as I have.  It has been a wonderful two days good bye to the warm weather, so as temperatures drop, bundle up and stay warm.  Get your fireplace cleaned if you haven't yet, check the wood pile and stock it if it needs it.  Stay warm, and enjoy your holidays. 11/09/2006

Well as sad as I am to say it, the BNSF Intermodal site was annexed by Gardner.  It was inevitable that it would come due to the fact that a small town like Gardner would never have enough money fight the railroad company.  So now the citizens of Gardner have just a few years to enjoy their house until our new big ugly neighbor decides to set up shop.  So those of us in the surrounding area, I guess we should enjoy the view while we can see it through the smokeless sky, and relish the stars at night before they night work likes drown them out with their glow. 11/09/2006

Is there anyone on here from Gardner KS?  How about Johnson County Kansas?  I am just curious if anyone has any opinions that they would like to share concerning the BNSF Intermodal Facility that is trying to build in Gardner.  Is this all part of the NAFTA Super Highway?  Is it right for BNSF to develope a train yard in an area that has houses on three sides of it?  Will this have a negative or positive impact on Real Estate values in the near by sub-divisions?  What are your thoughts and opinions?  11/07/2006
