   Purdue University Spirit Arch   The Purdue Spirit Arch has been around the central Purdue University Campus as long as I can remember.  It was created by funds from the Class of 1912, and the statue can be found on the east side of Stanley Coulter Hall.  I always thought this looked like a plumb bob that got stuck in a crevice, but what do I know as I was not an art major while attending Purdue.  What does this look like to you? GE Aviation has decided to build a plant in Lafayette Indiana which will be producing the L.E.A.P. jet engine. L.E.A.P. stands for Leading Edge Avaiation Propulsion. This is incredible news, for a number of reasons! It means jobs, it means economic stability, and it means that Hoosiers have much to be proud of. GE Aviation and Jobs GE Aviation is suggesting that jobs may be available as early as 2015. They hope to have the LEAP engine in production and use by 2016, which means that they are eager to begin the processing of these engines as quickly as possible. The new plant will be the plant that finalizes the engine. The number of jobs is expected to be approximately 200 jobs, which repeatedly were stated to be jobs that can support a family.         TIPPECANOE COUNTY COURTHOUSE The Tippecanoe County Courthouse in Lafayette, Indiana is one of the most beautiful courthouses in all of Indiana. Constructed of native limestone our Tippecanoe County treasure is on the National Historic Landmark Register and is over 125 years old.  Fifteen years old it survived a terror attack, when a still at-large individual drove a stolen pick up into the building loaded with an improvised bomb and tried to burn the courthouse down.  It survived the fire and is just as beautiful as ever.
