Hebron, Indiana is at the south end of Porter County.  I’ve lived in Hebron for over twenty years now.  It is a wonderful little sleeper town.    I remember when we were looking for a home and drove through the town for the first time.  Everyone would wave at us and I have to admit it was nice in a hesitant but comforting way. Hebron, Indiana has not grown much over the years.  The graduating classes are around 70 students at Hebron High School.  You can count on the same friendly people to greet you at the local businesses.  The Country Kitchen stills serves homemade pies.  Hebron, Indiana is only ten minutes to Crown Point going northwest and twenty five minutes to Valparaiso going northeast.  |It is only minutes away from entertainment, shopping and restaurants. The location and e...

OK, here I go. It was suggested that I take advantage of the blog here on ActiveRain. I have to admit, it was a very good suggestion. Thanks Steve.I will try to post here more often if I can. I already have 2 other blogs, as well as several other websites that I look after. Oh yeah, I have a job too! More than enough to stay busy and enough to keep me up until 1 or 2 am each night. From here on out, I promise that I'll try to keep my blog up-to-date and post only things that are interesting, pertinent and appropriate. If you have any suggestions, be sure to let me know. I really like talking about credit repair / healthy credit and especially the state of Indiana's foreclosure initiative at 877-GET-HOPE or 877GETHOPE.orgAnd ask questions if you want! Hebron, Indiana, in Porter countyThe History of Hebron is intertwined with that of Boone Township.  For this reason, both will be mentioned here.  The land in Boone Township was opened for settlement by virtue of a treaty between the United Sates Government and the Pottawattomi Indians in 1832.  In the early spring of 1835, Judge Jessie Johnson, first judge of Porter County's Probate Court, with his family became the first white settlers in Boone Township.  He was closely followed by the Isaac Cornell Family who settled on land just east of Hebron.  The Semian Bryant family followed, settling on land one and one half miles south of Hebron.

Marti's Place casual-dining restaurant located right on the banks of the Kankakee River between Hebron & Lowell, Indiana. My favorite place to just relax and enjoy  the nature views while eating or having a cocktail. From spring to winter there something to see there. Try the sea food platter it's great!!!  This is one of my favorite places in Northwest Indiana to get away. Web page : http://www.emartisplace.com/Courtesy of http://www.willemsrealtors.com/
