Prairie Fields Subdivision - Savoy, IL The village of Savoy in Champaign County, Illinois has in recent years become home to an increasing number of residents. According to the 2000 census, the population was 4,476 people. By 2010, it was up to 7,280! Prairie Fields has emerged as one of the most desired neighborhoods in Savoy with homes ranging in age from brand-new to around 15 years old. In addition to single-family homes there are condos and zerolots to choose from with prices for a home ranging from the upper $100,000s to the upper $200,000s. Most homes have between 2,000 to 3,000 square feet with 3 to 5 bedrooms. A centralized neighborhood park has long been a valued feature of Prairie Fields. Homes in Prairie Fields Subdivision, Savoy, Illinois   Prairie Fields subdvision in Savoy, Illinois attracts a variety of homebuyers for a great variety of reasons. At my most recent open house, several buyers cited Savoy's lower taxes as their reason for househunting in that neighborhood. Location and amenities are huge draws to future residents, as well. One of the biggest attractions currently is the fact that a new elementary school is being built right in Prairie Fields. The new Carrie Busey Elementary School is set to open in the fall of 2012, and will be a state-of-the-art, LEED certified education building. See below for pictures of the site. In addition the Prairie Fields Park offers a green space in the middle of the neighborhood providing an accesible area for children to pla...
