CNN in its recent Money Magazine article  reported Long Grove, Illinois  as the 24th suburb out of 25 for the highest median household  income in the United States. I don't know if that's something to brag about..... but let me explain why Long Grove should also qualify as one of the top 10 places to live!  The Villages of Buffalo Grove, Vernon Hills,and  Lincolnshire all  presently tap into Lake Michigan for their water supply. On October 9th, Long Grove's village board voted to hire Applied Technology to complete a Lake Michigan water study to determine if it would be feasible for Long Grove, a neighboring town to also pursue municipal water.  According to Long Grove Village Manager David Lothspeich, "the benefits of a village wide system would be a more reliable and quality source of water.  During a drought, owners of shallow wells may need to lower the pump in order to tap into additional  water.   Although it is healthy water, well water often has an odor or can be discolored."  Although certain residents are opposed to city water because they enjoy the lower water bills with an acr... 10/19/2007
