Just to put it in perspective for you, here are the sales from the last 5 years: 2010: Units sold 40 2011 : Units sold 29 2012: Units sold 51 2013: Units sold 84 2014: Units sold 65 It may have felt like lake Barrington Shores sales were moving backwards and for 2014 compared to 2013 that was indeed the case. However if we look at the bigger picture, 65 sales in 2014 is still a recovered market compared to prior years when the real estate market was in the doldrums. Logic tells as that the lower priced units will be first to move and the domino effect means as the tiles tumble the middle prices will get moving followed by the higher priced at the end. How's the real estate market in Lake Barrington Shores?  We know sellers want to know if it's the right time to sell and data can help them decide. So here goes. During the period January to March 2013 there were 16 homes sold with prices from $57,750 to $492,500. Three of the sales were foreclosures, there were no short sales, the remaining 13 were regular re-sales. I don't think I can ever remember sales in LBS below $100,000. Believe me the buyer that bought 228 Hickory Lane Unit A got a really good deal at $57,750. the next sale was at $101,000. It's also been a long time since we saw a sale over $400,000. I am looking after a town home in Lake Barrington Shores on behalf of an overseas client and yesterday it was time to pass the keys over to our new tenant. Well not really my tenant but I like to think I care as much about my clients property as my own. My husband and I went over on Saturday to make sure all was in good order for Monday. It's high time I published the third quarterly report for Lake Barrington Shores. We are more than half way through October and if I don't get it done today I might miss it completely. So here goes. Let's first take a look at rentals. If you recall last quarter I mentioned that rentals in Lake Barrington Shores were hot properties. At the time of writing last quarters end there were only 2 available. As of today there are now 10 available. That's still under average but at least there is a little more choice. Now for sales. It's been busy at the beginning of July and I am a little behind with my market reports, so let's get to Lake Barrington Shores Properties and see how we are doing. First let's look at rentals. Not something I do a lot of - out of choice - but I do have a unit available for rent from the first week in August once my buyer has closed the purchase.
