We have been spoiled lately with the warmer weather we have been having. The bitter cold is here. It is a NEW YEAR!! With a new year comes new focus, new opportunities, new relationships, new inventory of homes and new buyers! 2007 was a challenging year for real estate but some good things came out of it too. Although sellers loved the prices they were getting for their homes those prices were spinning out of control. It feels more like spring than the 2nd week in January. We have had some record breaking temperatures the last few days. HAPPY NEW YEAR..    I am not going to dwell on the year of 2007... It seems as though the press, television and other realtors are taking care of that. It was the best year of my real estate career. I look to 2008 for the fruits of my labors to pay off. We all know that any successful career takes dedication, hard work and focus (just to name a few items), but marketing and contacts are the key in this field, I think. Luckily I have some longevity in Carol Stream and my name is recognized - partially thanks to my children who have gone through the schools here. This past week or so in Northern Illinois, has had alot of ups and downs. Carol Stream Police Department has openings for an 11-week Adult Citizen Police Academy that begins on Thursday, January 24, 2008 at the Carol Stream Village Hall from 6:30-9:30. It's beginning to look at lot like Christmas!!! There is snow on the ground.....it is very cold out!! People are out doing last minute Christmas shopping and from the looks of things, people are busy buying homes too.The Carol Stream real estate market had another strong week as far as Carol Stream homes going under contract.
