 It is that time again to begin the search for a new Carol Stream Village Sticker. School-aged students from grades K to 5th or home schooled children who range in age from 5 - 10 are eligible to submit their original artistic designs. Children are told of the theme which this year is, "My Favorite Things about Carol Stream." Applications will be handed out at the elementary level. The Carol Stream Police Department is accepting applications for the fall session of the Citizen Police Academy. This is a 11-week program that will be held on Thursday evenings starting on September 20, 2007 and continuing on till December 6, 2007. The program will be held at the Carol Stream Village Hall. The classes begin promptly at 6:30pm and end at 9:30pm. The department will select 27 adults that will be able to learn more about the Carol Stream police and patrol operations through a variety of demonstrations and hands on participation. GLENBARD NORTH TO CELEBRATE CONSTITUTION DAY: Glenbard North's U.S. government classes and journalism classes are teaming up to celebrate Constitution Day on Monday, Sept. 17. The emphasis this year will be on the First Amendment. On Monday, staff members and students are encouraged to wear red, white and/or blue. Kudo's Carol Stream Firefighters..Another quick response (reported as:within 3 minutes) on Thursday 9/13/07 to the Newport Village Townhome community.  Several townhomes on Esselen Court were damaged in a fire. No one was injured and the damage is reported at over $100,000. The unit in which the fire began is uninhabitable.
