The Addison real estate market is off to a slow start this year.  The number of homes sold is down 68% from the first quarter of 2006 and down about 44% from 2007.  Fortunately, the prices have remained about the same as last year and around 6.6% below 2006 numbers.This graph shows the first quarter numbers from 2006 to 2008.  You can see there is significant decrease in first quarter demand over the last couple of years.Here you can see the prices over the same periods.  The last two years are nearly the same even with the decrease in demand.  These are only first quarter numbers and should be viewed with some care.  If you look at 12 month increments over the last 3 years the prices have actually increased.  To get an accurate valuation of your home or if you are considering buying so...

A recent Multiple Listing search for Addison, IL, homes shows that even though the number of homes sold has been decreasing, the home prices have been climbing.  The information was broken down into one year increments dating back three years. The graph above shows that the number of homes sold is down about 60% versus 3 years ago.Even though the number of homes sold is down significantly the price has been on the rise.  See the bar graph above.  From the 24-36 month range to the 12-24 month range the mean price of sold homes increased by almost $10,000.  In the last 12 months prices rose by almost $4,000 over the previous year.  In this period, Addison home prices are up about $13,500 or as a percentage prices have increased by about 4.3%.  The local information shows that although the...

I grew up on Wrightwood Ave. in Addison. I was born there on October 8th, 1976 and spent the next (almost 23) years of my life in the same house, until October 2, 1999 when my husband Tony and I got married.I graduated from Addison Trail High School in 1994. I attended Fullerton Elementary and both of my sister's and I were lucky enough to have Mrs. Hall for our kindergarten teacher between the years of 1977-1983... strange as it would now be today, we shared many teachers over the years despite the 8+ year age gap between the three of us.Our house at 256 E. Wrightwood Ave. was filled with so many great memories. We lived 3 blocks from the old 7-11 that stood at the corner of Wrightwood and Addison Rd.
