In response to Junes Active Rain challenge "Ole Glory coast to coast" I am posting a flag from a friends home we sold last year in Priest River Idaho.  Thank you Wendy and Adam, you are thought of often. The American Flag is not just a piece of fabric. It is symbolic of the fabric of our society as a nation. Will your Realtor be around tomorrow? I started Active Rain mid year 2014.  I was fortunate in having come to Active Rain via Rain Silverhawk 's invitation and guidance.  She also was there to answer immediate questions. I was also extremely fortunate to have Debbie Reynolds call me as an Ambassador and openly offer any help I might need along the way.  Debbie also was kind enough to feature me on one of her posts.  A remark she made sticks with me still today and makes me wonder "Will your Realtor® be around tomorrow? Debbie stated something to the affect of "he has staying power and will be here for a while".  I thought this an odd statement to make at the time.  I since have realized why she might make such a statement.  In my some what short stay in Active Rain I have seen MANY come... 02/04/2015

Martin knew what he was looking for in the North West portion of the Idaho Panhandle.  he was quite patient in his search.   I worked with him for over a year as new home possibilities would come available for sale.  Finally the beginning of 2014 brought a home that Martin felt would be just right for him, his wife and family.  An offer made and accepted.  Many obstacles, in escrow,  along the way were cleared by the listing agent.  The 3,900 sq. ft.  home, on 40 acres, successfully closed.  When turning the keys over to the new owners I noticed an unannounced visitor on the front steps.  Personally I felt it was a Good Omen and a perfect ending / beginning for this home’s new family.  I have been fortunate in helping some incredibly nice people and families fulfill their dreams already... 05/31/2014

Having Coffee, What Should Appear? This morning I received this email from my friend Karen Dingerson who lives in Priest River, Idaho. Has you may remember she is a wildlife photographer. Oktoberfest is everywhere.... today September 25th 3rd Annual OktoberfestHeld in Downtown Priest River.Music, wine/beer garden, art/craft vendors, food booths, and more. You will remember only a couple of weeks ago I wrote a story about visiting Priest River, Idaho. I found it a beautiful area and really enjoyed the time we spent there. Since then I have been staying in touch with a few people we met on our visit and knew today was the 3rd Annual Oktoberfest. I had meant to call my cousin, Kathy who lives in Atlanta and tell her about it but never got around to it. Why Did the Bear Cross the River??     In a recent visit to Priest River, Idaho I discovered a whole new world. I also met some very interesting people. One of the people I met was Karen Dingerson, a very talented wildlife photographer. On Tuesday after my return from Priest River, Idaho, Karen emailed me these pictures of a Momma Bear crossing the river right up to her deck.       She did not notice the two babies under her deck, playing and stuffing themselves on berries.           Well I guess Momma wanted some of those berries herself and because it was night fall it was time for bed for the little ones.   If you are looking for some great wilderness, mountain, lake, and wildlife pictures, Karen Dingeron has some very great shots. About a dozen years ago I was operating a real estate agency in our small town of Priest River, Idaho and I was bothered by the fact that the 4th of July celebration I remembered from childhood had somehow fallen by the wayside. So I went to a Chamber of Commerce meeting and suggested that it might be time to bring it back. They said "Sure, go ahead and do it." OK then - was anyone going to help? Heck no! So I started out on my own to find out where to buy the fireworks, who could legally fire them off, etc. A fireman could do it, but none were willing. Finally I found a company who does nothing but fireworks displays and they did have one crew left who could do our event. It would cost at minimum $2,500. Who should buy a rural home in Priest River, Idaho? Anyone who loves mountains, wildlife, clean air, and sparkling streams. The oddest situation I have come up against happened when showing a farm home near Priest River.  Myself and my clients walked through several feet of snow to enter the vacant home.  The first person through the unlocked door yelled "there's a cow under the floor".  Sure enough there was a cow in the crawl space more startled than us.  We figured he (or she) charged through the unlocked door not realizing the entry floor boards were still missing from the former unfinished remodeling project, fell into the crawl space and the door slammed shut. He couldn't climb up out of the crawl space and there he was until we arrived.  It was a happy ending with the rescuing of the cow by his owner...at least that's what they told me.
