Here’s a little well-earned comic relief I received.  We who work in the short sale trenches for our weary clients are always delighted to receive a message from our negotiators.    It means things are moving along, progress is being made.  It means we have something constructive with which to update our clients as well as the buyers who are waiting for a response to their offer.    One of the first things I do when I wake up in the morning is check for messages from negotiators.  I have found that many of them work at night, and many of the rest of them are in the Eastern time zone.  And they like to send out their messages first thing.    90% of the messages I get from negotiators are sitting in my box when I wake up.   So imagine my confusion to get the following message when I first...

This morning's Coeur d'Alene Press featured a story about arrest for another attempted theft of copper tubing.  It brought to mind a email blast I received a while back from the Coeur d'Alene Multiple Listing Service with a warning alert for those of us with vacant property listings: We have seen a recent uptick in home break-ins and theft.  We recommend you check your vacant listings more frequently to make sure that the property is secure and nothing is missing.  It is not unusual to see an increase when the weather is nice and the days are longer, but the numbers are up substantially this year.Agents are reporting more losses than usual. Short sales, that's the first thing that popped into my mind when I saw the name of this blogging challenge.  I have accumulated more than my share of short sale horror stories, blogged about many of them.  Survived them all.  Now, here I stand, a SURVIVOR of several years of endless toils in the maddening niche of short sales.  And yes, I am stronger (and smarter, and braver) for it! Just this morning, after waiting for a couple weeks, calling and recalling, I FINALLY received from our negotiator (Specialized Loan Servicing on bahalf of Bank of America) the promised valuation of my short sale listing.  It came as a huge fax, 40 some pages, which contained six copies of an actual appraisal.  That was odd, I've never been sent six copies a copy of the actual appraisal before.  I thumbed ...
