Kona goes to the beach in Wailea Maui It was the first time for my little puppy Kona to go to the beach!  We spent the afternoon on Keawakapu Beach in Wailea, and everyone had fun, not just the dog. She thought it was great, and who wouldn't? Lots of soft white sand to dig in  Lots of smiling people walking by and petting her. Lots of birds to bark at and chase Snacks to eat, water to drink Sunshine, waves, tradewinds   Kona had a nice shady spot to watch the beach goers.  She met a nice dog and lots of people.  It's surprising how many people have a Jack Russell back home.  I think I'll start taking her to the beach more often, and make her a little vest to wear, with my business cards in the pockets.  Then when strangers come up to pet her, they can grab my card... haha.... I just read a Gallup Poll working with a mental health insurance survey.  They stated that the three happiest places to live were. 1.  Utah, which has great country and some of the best powder skiing in the world. 2.  Wyoming, which has beautiful national parks and again great powder skiing in the likes of Jackson Hole. The reason for the ranking was mental health and family friendly. 3. Hawaii, beautiful beaches, lots of Aloha, and a great place to raise a family or chill on the beach. Dear Diary - In the past week I have been showing some clients a lot of homes for sale in the Wailea Maui area.  We've been to Wailea Pualani Estates, with this fabulous stand of Royal Palms pictured.  We've been to Wailea Kialoa which is just below Wailea Pualani.  We've seen everything on the market in Wailea Kai, and then some.  Then there were some more beautiful homes in Wailea Fairway Estates, Wailea Golf Vistas, and Wailea Golf Estates.  We had a couple of really intense days, seeing 6 or 7 homes each day.  That was plenty, enough to make the head spin.  They have been really great and were able to sort them all out and even requested 3 repeat showings.  Yesterday they narrowed it down to two homes, and then finally to one. Wailea resort news The Wailea/Makena south shore of Maui has some of the most grand resorts that I have seen.  While most are positioned near the ocean with nice sandy beaches, the Diamond Wailea Resort & Spa is in a more secluded location above the Wailea golf courses and far enough from the ocean that most would drive rather than to walk to the beach.  Pacific Business News announced in today's paper that the property will be renovated and will be managed by Aqua Hotels & Resorts.  Previously, Aqua-managed properties were in Waikiki and they did not have a presence on the other islands.  In Waikiki, they managed moderate quality hotels and this will be their first resort.  Sounds like a big move for Aqua and a nice challenge for them.
