Haiku Maui HI - Door of Faith Road video On the north shore of Maui, in Haiku, there's an area known as Huelo.  One of the main roads in Huelo is called Door of Faith Road.  It's about a 35 minute drive from our main city of Kahului.  If you've ever wondered what Door of Faith Road looks like, then join me on this short video tour taken on the Realtor Caravan this morning. As you can see, when you're in Huelo, you're in the country.  Horse pastures and homes share the landscape with lush tropical vegetation.  The road is paved and unpaved, and narrow in spots.  Please drive slowly.   This part of Maui can receive about 75 inches of rain in a normal year, making for some great growing conditions.  Tropical flowers and plants thrive, and you can easily grow such things as bananas, helicon... 06/10/2010

Kona and Honey Girl go wild in Haiku Maui HI... dogs just gotta have fun. My JRT Kona had a visitor today, a young Golden Retriever only 10 weeks old.  They hit it off instantly and it was so cute to see Kona having crazy fun with a little friend her size.  They played so hard and they just wouldn't quit until I separated them and made them take naps.  But it wasn't long and they were back at it again.  I hope you like the little movie of them romping around in the country, here in Haiku Maui. Haiku Maui HI market update - what's been selling in Haiku lately? I know you're all wondering what's been selling lately in Haiku Maui, so here's an update for the past month. There have been 4 Haiku Maui home sales - ranging from $320,000 to $620,000.  Average price of $411,250.    991 Haiku Road closed at $320,000.  Agreement of sale.  It was an old fixer home on a large lot of .45 acres. 77 Nahele Road sold for $340,000. Cash.  Property had a lot of issues, but some good features were: 2 parcels totalling 5.7 acres; private well. 300 S. The gardenias are in bloom, so you know it's springtime in Hawaii.  I always look forward to the beautiful rich scent of gardenias because it reminds me of when we first moved here in April 1980.  The gardenias were everywhere upcountry!  Since then we have planted many of our own.  They are pretty easy to start from cuttings. This second flower I just encountered for the first time and I have no idea what it is.  Do you?
