The national statistics came out and some good and some bad news. Home sales were up last month over 2 % , the price of homes were down over 15 %. Now those of you looking to purchase a home in Rome Georgia will find that the housing market is changing in our area as well. The number of homes for sale in Rome Ga is actually going down. A Realtor in our office was actually doing the presentation to the people in attendance. She explained the buying process, how to interview a Realtor, questions to ask. The importance of a home inspection, the importance of having a lender to work with, the difference between pre-qualified and pre-approved. Many  of you have heard the term "Staying ahead of the market". A phrase my broker has repeated to me on many occasions.  I actually got to put this into action for a second time and the results were great. This past week I took a listing for a short sale. The seller was put in this situation due to job loss and the economy. After depleting their funds and not being able to recoup from job loss , he was forced to put his home up for short sale. Today was Red Day for all Keller Williams Realty Offices across the nation.  This is an annual event. Today from our local office we came out in full force dressed in our Red t-shirts raring to go.  This year we choose to help out in one of our local schools Southeast Elementary School(see pics below) First we was greeted by 6th graders who was assigned to give us a tour and showed us to the class room we were assigned to. The media likes to discuss the negative......and only the negative.  I would love to see a major news network actually bring a few top Real Estate agents on and have them share why today is such a great time to buy real estate. With rates between 5.5% and 6.0% and inventory at record highs, people will find themselves saying "I should of" a year from now. The best news for the housing market is that the Dow closed up WAY UP!!!!  Hopefully all those investors will make lots of money for a while and then just before it goes down again start to use their profits to buy up some of these cheap houses!!!!!!  Check out Rome, GA when you do decide to cash in your money because you can still buy a house here for around $55,000 and some of them even have central heat and air these houses are perfect to park money and create a rental cash flow.  i look forward to helping investors create cash flow!!!!

Wish me luck!!!  On my next adventure!  Monday night at 6pm I am praying that the right thing is done at the City Commissioner's meeting.  I have petitioned to change the zoning on a piece of property that is adjacent to the back of my office.  The property once had a house on it and the house was condemed.  I sent a letter to the owner before the house was destroyed notifying them that the trees that border our driveway are dead and need to be removed.  The CITY of ROME had the house destroyed once they condemed it but no one took the trees down.  Since that time the owner died and now her son is left to handle everything.  He doesn't have the money to remove the trees.  I offered to buy the lot from him and make it an overflow parking lot for our office.  The lot next to it is zoned N...

Heat Index 98 today!!!!  we are at Saint Joseph's Hospital with my dad he is getting 2 stints in his heart today.  My sister drove him here this morning and I came down to meet them.  Upon arriving my dad announced that he had a heart attack because my sister drove 60 miles an hour to get here.  Now if you know anything about ATL traffic then you know that you must maintain 70 mph to keep from getting clobbered!!!!  Anyway once the surgery is over the DR said they may release dad today!!!!  Wow!
