The day will begin with the 2nd Annual Dogwood Dash--a 5k walk/run through the dogwood laden streets of Tallapoosa, sponsored by the Lion's Club. Country, bluegrass, gospel, Christian rock and a variety of popular instrumental music will begin at 9:00 a.m. and continue non-stop until 8 p.m. At 5:30 p.m., Country music star George Britt will highlight the double-barreled finale as he sings all the way up to the grand finale--the Possum Snout Shootout, a wild west street gunfight performed by actors for Rocky Branch Railroad & Old West Town. August 16,September 20, and October 4, are the dates you want to put on your calendar.  That is when the Bluegrass concert series on Head Av. Tallapoosa is held. Bring a folding chair and enjoy bluegrass music on Head Av Tallapoosa GA. There is no admission charge. There are also hot dogs, popcorn, soft drinks being sold  to benefit the Tallapoosa Better Hometown Projects. The concerts are being put on by the Tallapoosa Downtown Development Authority.
