Set up in a similar fashion to the Market Day held earlier this weekend, the Art Festival did in fact feature more arts and crafts.  A little warmer and somewhat more humid than Saturday but overall a beautiful day to stroll around the square and check out the arts and crafts. The First thing that drew my attention was a young woman painting a house. Brown's Reservoir in Northern Coweta County Georgia, is one of the main sources of drinking water for the Newnan area.  It is managed by the Coweta County Water and Sewage Authority.  The above picture is taken from the boat launch at the park available for Coweta County residents.  There are some rules however, No motorized boats except for electric prowlers and paddles.  No rubber or vinyl rafts.  No gas tanks or cans.  Fishing is only permitted from boat and the park has open and closed hours.  The lake itself is quite large, about 300 acres or so and serves as the centerpiece for the Water's Edge community.  The community appears to be firmly established, and by the looks of the housing market data in the area it's well sought after.  Nothing at Water's Edge Estates or the Enclave, ... 09/05/2021

Having just moved back to Newnan after a little over 30 years I bought a new home on the far outstretches of the Fayetteville Road Corridor in a subdivision at the edge of Newnan's city limits, the first thing I noticed after moving back was how beautiful all of the homes were, and that what was once country where I rode my motorcycle after school, is that my goodness the road sure is busy!  In fact it runs almost half the traffic as some of the major four lane roads around and yet it's just two lanes.  Once in while, less often than it is, the road is like it once was, free of cars and open as far as you can see, but that is the extreme exception of course, rather than the rule.The reality is that the area of Newnan, Coweta County and Fayette County including Peachtree City and beyond ... 08/24/2021

It's Official, the Skate Park in Newnan is open!  Located at 5 Glenn St. in Newnan, the park was Paid for in part by SPLOST dollars and citizens.This park not only is the largest of it's kind in Georgia, but part of a massive revitalisation of the park itself including connections to the LINC trail system, a pavilian, splash pad for the kids, a new playground, climbing ropes and two really long slides.  The Skate Park itself includes what is called a "pump track" which is for bikes, skates and roller skates as well.  It includes some swept corners with ups and downs and basically anything and everything you'd want to perfect the art of fun and sport on wheels.City planning surveys around the country including here in our area repeatedly show a strong desire for parks and availability of... 08/22/2021
