Spring is when the turtles come out in Lake City, Georgia. Lake City, GA has a secret. We who know about it are probably guilty of holding it close for purely selfish reasons -- we want to keep it pristine and natural as it is now. But I'll share the secret with you. It's Reynolds Preserve -- a little gem of a wildlife sanctuary hidden in plain sight  just a few blocks from all of the hustle and bustle of Jonesboro Road, a busy thoroughfare that runs south from Atlanta, through Forest Park, Conley, Lake City, Morrow and Jonesboro. The beautifully wooded hills of the Preserve provide sanctuary for wildlife and humans alike. It is my favorite place to get in a little rigorous walking.
