Johns Creek filed a motion to intervene in a lawsuit by outdoor advertising firms against Fulton County in an effort to prevent a proposed settlement agreement.  Under the approved proposal by the Fulton County Commission, the county would approve sign permits for 74 billboards, including 31 in Johns Creek.  In doing so, they rejected an alternative option of paying the outdoor advertisers several million dollars in damages.  Mayor Mike Bodker claims that the county is not authorized to act on behalf of the city and in doing so they have "abandoned" the citizens and sold away the community's "tranquility". Read more If you drive the city's main thoroughfares, here's what you might be looking at - literally - as shown on this map of proposed billboard locations. You can also find out mor...

Atlanta Ranked No. 7 in Top 10 Most-stable Housing MarketsIn October 2007, Forbes Magazine released its report on the Most-stable Housing Markets in America.  Atlanta came in No. 7, with an annual price change from 2006 to 2007 of 0.9 percent and a projected price change to 2008 of 4.4 percent.  According to Forbes, Atlanta migration and job creation spikes made it one of the fastest-growing cities in the nation, despite high inventory. The fast sales rate and fewer nonconforming mortgages, however, mean that home-sale activity will continue to increase.Interested in moving next spring?  Contact us for very important information on how to update and get your home ready for the sale.  Need to move sooner?  Call today for a free consultation, including market analysis and staging. The Sher...

Saturday, Dec. 1 celebration promotes business, city awareness The Johns Creek Chamber of Commerce's second annual Founders' Day celebration runs on Saturday, December 1. Our first Founders' Day was a huge success last year as we ushered in the first day of our  city's existance and drew thousands of residents to 73 sponsoring Johns Creek businesses. Our four-hour celebration helped bring people to the Chamber's new office. Retialers and other businesses wore blue Founders' Day t-shirts and displayed balloons marking their participation in the big day. This year Chamber members will reach out to residents during the holiday season and make shopping even easier as everyone stays closer to home in Johns Creek. I've wrote about articles from a friend of mine who is a professional organizer before but thought you may be interested in ways to "Create a Magazine-Worthy Kitchen in Minutes."  Don't know about you but I'm always trying to find ways to help spruce up the home in "minutes."  Who has more than a minute these days?  Hopefully these quick easy methods will be helpful to you.  Some of these are no-brainers but often times we all need to be kindly reminded (like our mothers used to do).1)  Eliminate refrigerator magnets.  These guys seem to multiply when you are not looking!  Clear off ALL of them and wait 30 days.  If you still miss any of them, you may then bring back only those specific ones you recalling missing.2) Just because the space is there doesn't mean you have to fill it.  It's...

Newly incorporated in December 2006, Johns Creek is a young, thriving city in northeast Fulton County.  The city was created from the previously unincorporated eastern portion of northern Fulton County, with Roswell to the west and south, Gwinnett County to the east, Alpharetta to the northwest, and Forsyth County to the north. Named for the stream that runs through the area on its way to the Chattahoochee River, nearly 60,000 people call Johns Creek home.  Ample parks and greens provide recreational opportunities for residents. Set on 46 forest acres, Autrey Mill Nature Preserve and Heritage Center is one of the city's most-cherished public spaces and offers hiking trails, a nature center, and a collection of historic buildings, including a farmhouse, a chapel, a church, a barn, and an...
