If you asked me on any day before October 21st about Twitter, I would tell you what my opinion was: "Twitter is a news feed.  It's great for news, PR and corporate entities.  It's not worth a Real Estate Agent's time to be on there unless they are researching opinions, ect. Interactions are weak, it's like having coffee pot conversations on the net.  Pretty useless interactions, good to have your blog automate postings to it." I stand corrected today.  As of October 21st, Google & Bing have decided to INDEX twitter posts! That doesn't mean you should go and sign up for Twitter without a plan just yet.  I wanted to give you a game plan.  Twitter just became relevant (to me) but it's still a place where time can be wasted in the bunches! On Monday, my real estate office had an event called Callapalooza.  We had free food and sponsors put up prizes including a 42" TV.  The event was a great success in my mind and there was a buzz in the air.  We took some market share by doing this.  Let's not get too hung up on the fact that one commission check usually can buy two 42" TVs.  AHA's! An AHA! is where you are doing something or seeing something and you think "AHA! I've got it."  The "AHA" that the agenst got is that the PHONE WORKS (as long as you operate it properly). Several agents found out on Monday after being nearly forced to make phone calls that when you dial the numbers on the phone sometims someone will answer.  You can then talk to them about Real Estate and sometimes get business!!! Well, last year we were experiencing a drought and the lakes were down over 20 feet.  Yes, weather patterns and real estate markets go in cycles.  Today, we are having one of the most severe rains and flooding we have seen in decades.  Check out this picture of the 11th green on the TPC at Sugarloaf golf course.  It may be a little hard to see... but that is the flag still standing as the entire green is underwater.  An yes, there were a few golfers chipping balls trying to see who could get closest to the flag!   This is the "bird's eye view" of the 11th hole before it was flooded. It has been said that in the Atlanta real estate market, September and October are great times to take a good cruise or a vacation.  I must say that I agree!  The phones do not ring too much once the kiddies are back in school.  This year in Atlanta seems no different.  The summer was kind of a disappointment.  We started out with a bang for May and June and then July fizzled as the interest rates went higher.  In August "Cash for clunkers" seemed to pull whatever excess cash was in the market...and took it in another direction.  Personally I was hoping that once children were back in school the market here would have picked up.  It didn't.  It is very quiet except for phone calls looking for $5000 homes that buyers will tell you they do not have the money.  All and all, we cannot compl... 09/16/2009

A few weeks ago I took some photos and a visual tour panorama of the new Duluth GA City Center.  I purposely took these photos and tour of Duluth GA to add to my Duluth GA homes for sale web page. They have just about finished the downtown Duluth City Hall project, and it's stunning.  It is hard to beleive all the work that's been accomplished in the last few years.  We have a new city hall, a sfestical center, a park and so much more. The Historic City of Duluth GA has been reborn with this magnificent project.  There is a new City Hall, shops, and a lovely promenade for walking and strolling in downtown Duluth GA.  Enjoy the tour of Duluth GA! Remembering September 11, 2001 The city of Duluth GA is a leader is strong country pride.  Anyone local to the Duluth area can attest to that.  Each memorial Day the names of fallen Duluth GA citizens that served our country and gave their final offering with their lives are remembered on flags, crosses and posts on all the main roads of the city of Duluth GA.  This year is no difference in marking the anniversary of September 11, 2001. It is an extremely patriotic gesture.  This year for September 11th it is no different. The Duluth clock tower bells will toll at the time each plane crashed on that terrible day in 2001 (8:46 am, 9:03 am, 9:45 am and 10:10 am). The City of Duluth Georgia's Mayor Pro Tem, Jim Dugan, along with a police officer and fireman, will place a wreath at the top ... 09/10/2009

Duluth GA was a great place to cool yourself off on a beautiful summer day today.  Ellen and I went out for a ride after lunch and wanted to take some photos around town.  Our first stop was the New City Hall in Duluth GA where the entire landscape of historic Duluth meets a new city center complete with a new city hall, a plaza, down town shopping, an festival center, and a great looking city center park complete with a water fountain that local children had a great time staying cool as moms and dads were nearby watching!  It was a perfect day for fun for all!  The weather in Duluth GA was perfect!   08/23/2009

Congratulations to Sugarloaf Country Club resident Stewart Cink for winning the 138th British Open.  It was one of the most exciting finishes in Open history as Cink won a 4-hole playoff against veteran Tom Watson.  Watson has won 5 British Open titles previously and is one of the most successful golfers in history.  At age 59, Watson mounted an incredble run but came up one stroke short of voctory with a bogey on the 18th hole.  Stewart made a rare birdie on the 18th in regulation to post a 2 under par score.  In the playoff, Stewart was 2 under par while Watson blew to a triple of the 17th hole which was the 3rd playoff hole.   Stewart was obviously excited but a humble and classy winner as he acknowledged the venerable Watson in his comments after the round.  Watson was quite the gen... 07/27/2009
