Where to go on a great walk in Atlanta? Chastain Park Walking/Jogging Trail is located on the periphery of the Chastain Park Golf Course, Northside Youth Organization Play Fields, from Wieuca to Lake Forrest and completed by Power’s Ferry Rd.  The main path, which is approximately a 3 mile loop, is a very popular option for a ton of folks exercising, strolling or walking with friends on a daily basis.  Whether you are pushing a baby stroller, walking the dog or out enjoying a good run, Chastain Park is a great place to be.  It's vibrant, it's scenic, and it's a good workout with it's rolling hills! Part of the PATH organization, it’s part of a long term effort to offer continued amenities to area residents and guests.  Click here for specific PATH information and maps outlining the Walk...

Chastain Park NYO (Northside Youth Organization) - Unassisted Triple Play - May 2012 One of our frequent places to go over the past decade has been the fabulous Chastain Park Baseball and Softball fields – affectionately known as NYO (Northside Youth Organization.) It’s a series of fields for kids ages 4-18. From the t-ball to the Senior leagues, there have been a number of incredible plays as well as laughs as the t-baller’s provide adorable moments. This month however, a 6 year old little leaguer, Ross Bernath, made an amazing sequence of plays to record an unassisted triple play of three outs during his game. What is really impressive is not only that he caught the ball, but that he had the presence of mind to continue making outs! Enjoy: Where do you spend a lazy afternoon or evenin...

Early results from August 2011 show that Home Sales in Chastain Park under $700,000 are up over 68% versus 2010.  Overall, Home Sales in Chastain Park jumped 28% for all price points combined thus far this year.  The news could be even better if additional sales post in the next few days.  I believe the outlook is good for home sellers in Chastain Park looking to put their homes on the market in the Spring of 2012.  That's the good news. Here’s the less-than-good news:  Sellers this fall will still have to contend with the appraisal “hangover” which lingers from the downward momentum and instability in values over the past few years.      Oddly this news comes on a day when the just released Standard & Poor’s Case-Shiller home pricing index for Atlanta rebounded for the third month in a...

Chastain Park – Atlanta GA's Largest and most INCREDIBLE park!   There are parks and there are PARKS!  Chastain Park nestled in the North Buckhead suburbs is QUITE a park.  How many parks boast a public golf course, horse park, concert amphitheater, top notch sports programs (including Baseball, Softball, T-ball, Football, & Basketball – Northside Youth Organization or NYO), tennis courts, community swimming pool, playgrounds, arts & crafts building and a walking/jogging trail?  I can’t think of another park in Atlanta that begins to compare!    Chastain Park evolved from 268 acres of farmland in North Atlanta with the goal of becoming a premier showplace recreational area in Atlanta envisioned by Troy Chastain – then a member of the local Atlanta Commissioners.  The main part of the ...

Horseradish Grill Restaurant at Chastain Park – Feel the love of great food!   Atlanta GA offers phenomenal restaurants of many kinds.  We love the tremendous options here, but especially appreciate the unique one of a kind, non-chain restaurants like the Horseradish Grill Restaurant located in heart of Chastain Park.  Nestled in the gorgeous residential area known as Chastain Park, the restaurant actually preceded the neighborhood, which was later built around it.   Originally a country store, Horseradish Grill was first opened in 1946 as a restaurant (with a different name) to serve those hungry golfers coming off the North Fulton Golf Course in Chastain Park.  Today, it is the longest continuously operating restaurant in Atlanta.   The original country store was where the current b...
