Historic Oakland Foundation and the Georgia Daffodil Society will host the second annual Daffodil Day, a springtime celebration of Oakland Cemetery’s ubiquitous bloom! Join the Historic Oakland Foundation gardens staff and community partners on Saturday, March 19, 2016 for an afternoon of learning and expertise. The beautiful display of Oakland’s daffodils are a testament to the dedication of a small group of volunteers who have committed their time and energy toward planting them. Daffodils once bloomed throughout the grounds, but they have faded away over the years. These old varieties are almost impossible to purchase, however in the last few years they have been able to rescue thousands of these bulbs and replant them at Oakland. Land that is slated for development is identified, per...

Should You Set Your Table When Selling Your Home? Here are my recommendations: Set one table but not both - In other words, if there's a dining room table AND a kitchen table, set only one of them. If there's only one table, take into consideration "how busy a table setting" will have from a visual standpoint. If it appears "clutter-like", then opt for a simple arrangement.    I also let the home speak to me in terms of what it needs. For example, in this home (with one table), I wanted the chandelier to take center stage. As a result, I used small, contemporary dishes, no napkins, or glasses and a centerpiece.    I added a twig to the centerpiece to help pick-up the browns from the window treatment and table:     Close-ups:

One of the quirkiest neighborhoods in Atlanta, Cabbagetown, hosts one of the best Fall events every year.  This neighborhood is unlike any other in Atlanta.  With a historical connection to the Appalachian Mountains this neighborhood has a feel all its own -- no, I'm not kidding, but that history lesson is best saved for another time. Chomp & Stomp is a great chance to enjoy a HUGE number of insanely hot & good chili's at the cook-off.....but get there early because it goes quickly.  You could get there extra early & get rid of any guilt about eating countless types of chili and drinking beer all afternoon while listening to live blue grass music because you ran the Chomp & Stomp 5k in the morning. It all goes down at the Cabbagetown Park at the corner of Tye Street & Kirkwood Avenue.  ...

Another In-Town Atlanta home, home staged by Peachtree Home Staging SOLD! This new construction builders home was on the market for OVER A YEAR!   Yes, over one year on the market! Although I wish everyone would plan ahead and stage their home prior to listing . . . I get positively challenged by that telephone call inquiring about staging a vacant home that isn't selling.  I am so confident that Peachtree Home Staging can make a difference! We staged this vacant home mid November before Thanksgiving.  It was off the market right after the new year with the proud new home owner moving in this past weekend.   Wow -- 45 days is a huge improvement over 365, don't ya think?  I truly love the power of presentation (A.K.A. -- Home Staging) that helps vacant homes sell!
