Azaleas are the Springtime Stars in Florida GardensAs a homeowner in Florida, one of my favorite things about spring is the burst of color that comes with the blooming of azaleas in my garden. These beautiful shrubs are like little bursts of joy, dotting my landscape with vibrant shades of pink, white, and purple. What I love most about azaleas is how easy they are to care for. They seem to thrive in our Florida climate, soaking up the sunshine and occasional rain showers. I simply make sure they have enough water and a bit of fertilizer now and then, and they reward me with a stunning display of flowers every spring.Another great thing about azaleas is their versatility. Whether I plant them in the ground or in containers, they always seem to find a way to brighten up my outdoor space. ...

Take time each day to reflect on the things you are grateful for, no matter how small.  Gratitude helps shift your focus from what's lacking to what's present, fostering a sense of abundance and appreciation. Surround Yourself with Positivity.  Surround yourself with uplifting influences, whether it's supportive friends and family, inspiring books and podcasts, or uplifting music and art.  Positive environments can bolster your own optimism and provide a source of encouragement during tough times. Lastly, be kind to yourself, especially when facing difficulties.  Treat yourself with the same compassion and understanding you would offer to a friend in need. Rinse the corned beef brisket under cold water to remove any excess brine. Place it in a large pot or Dutch oven. 2. Add the seasoning packet that came with the corned beef to the pot. If there was no seasoning packet, you can add 1 tablespoon of pickling spices. 3. Pour the bottle of Irish stout beer over the corned beef in the pot....

Ideas for creating an Eclectic Interior with the "Grandmillenial Trend" and Influence. Over the years, I have had the pleasure of decorating many homes with a unique blend of southern charm while incorporating traditional touches.  The past few years there has been a surge in popularity of what is known as the "Grandmillenial" stye.  So what is this all about? The Grandmillenial style or trend embraces nostalgic pieces that your grandmother cherished.   It's not so much of a trend, but a wave of "Grandmillenials" who have an affinity for those stuffy or outdated chintz prints, ruffles, monogram linens, chinoiserie, sterling silver, sparkling crystal, tufting, fringe, antiques, and wicker pieces. In today's fast-paced digital age, there's something undeniably comforting about surrounding...

Move on from what is holding you backPack up the good things and know that better & brighter days are ahead!Heather Stillufsen   Should you Rent or Own? This is an age old debate and is always a significant decision in ones lifetime. Homeownership brings a myriad of benefits that extend beyond the satisfaction of having a place to call your own. Welcome to the wild world of home ownership.  Watching your money disappear into the abyss of property taxes, homeowners insurance, and spending your weekends at Home Depot instead of the beach. I'm personally seeing many senior citizens opt for renting after they have sold their home and are renting as they are in "kind of a holding pattern".  Waiting to see where they ultimately want to settle, or waiting for just the right property to come al...

Florida winters are a tranquil escape for this Northeast transplant... As a long-time resident who migrated from the Northeast many decades ago, Florida's winter months have become an integral part of my life, offering a stark contrast to the chilly memories of my northern roots.  Winters here are different of course.  We don't have that beautiful white snow, but we have a unique beauty during our winters that I have grown to love. I don't miss the bone-chilling winds and layers of winter clothing.  Our Winter Sun, which is much less intense than the scorching summer, is still beautiful and casts a warm glow on everything. I look forward to the puffy cloud filled skies and the sun peaking out. One of the remarkable features of a Florida winter is we still enjoy blooming flowers.  While ...
